Honestly, I adore the thing. Even with playlists, and ipods, and all that garbage, the radio *at nighttime* is my absolute favourite. I especially love interesting discussions on the radio late at night, if I find any. Its so peculiar. I found a perfect jazz radio station last night and set it as my alarm. beautiful.

yeah, you can usually find something good on the radio at night... especially in larger cities where you have a few different college stations to choose from...

    during the day, radio=satan

I keep my tv on the blues radio station at night when I'm trying to sleep.

absolutely. radio is absolute satan when the sun is out. But then, I only really like to go out or do things at night anyway. College radio stations are fantastic. I like radio free peterborough when I am around Peterborough/Lindsay area in ontario. (where Waking Life went to school for a semester) When I was a kid we had these little radio station setups that could work within a certain range and be broadcast on an AM station and I used to play with it all the time. I wouldnt mind being a radio host at night. I feel that I have a nice voice to listen to.

What do they say on radio Havana?

My Danish grandfather has this radio tower in his backyard, that connects to this entire setup in his basement where he can communicate with people internationally. it is SWEET. When I was a kid I used to play with his morse code set up and talk to people that way.

Cuban and International news. Raul Castro gives a speech every week talking about how great Cuba is.

Certain hours of the day is in English and others in Spanish. The international news is actually pretty good. I think they play a bit of music too.

I like AM radio sometimes, what little music is still on it. I heard the Beatles doing The Long and Winding Road late one night from a distant station with fading and static. It sounded so long ago and far away, much like the 60s, as if it was an old relic of the past.

Check out EuroNews if you can get it. It's not filled with all the patriotic fervor crap that rules the American airwaves. Russia Today is another good TV news channel, as is China's CCTV-9. All are in English.

i honestly havent listened to the radio in a few years, hmmm

the ones here are overloaded with obnoxious ads, or "talk radio" which is boring as fuck. although there was one 'talk' dude who was amusing to listen to, radio debate stuff, he was sooooo opinionated and listenerscould call in to rant against him heh

I only have a few outlets of merit around here radio wise. WXPN 88.5 is great for indie and folk and such, and I think I listen to WSTW in DE for the local music night. Temple has a good Jazz station and I think the rock stations are getting theyre shit back together. Still though there was a drought of man many years of shit shit shit radio in philly. During that time i bought an ipod and haven't turned back so.....
