Has anyone ever driven to work barefoot only to discover upon arrival that they left their shoes at home? I nearly made this mistake on Tuesday. Yours truly was in such a rush out the door that I didn't realize I left my shoes in the house until I was about to pull away from the curb. Unfortunately, my job isn't barefoot friendly so I would have had to turn around and go home for my shoes if I had actually managed to forget them. A woman told me once that she drove barefoot to the grocery store on one occasion with the understanding that she had a extra pair of shoes in the car. Upon arrival at the store, she realized she didn't have any footwear in her car and decided not to chance her luck and attempt to shop barefoot in the store. Needless to say, she opted for going home and retrieving shoes instead. Please except my apologies for that extremely boring story.
i keep a pair of flip flops in the car. and yes i drive barefoot. my job is also not barefoot friendly. wish it was. then i would be barefoot 24-7
My work has always involved driving to a considerable extent an adverage of 500 miles or more each week, operating a company vehicle and working alone. Being so, I would often drive barefoot while having my shoes underneath my seat. All though this never happend to me, I did forget my shoes once, but luckily had a pair of flops with me, so I wore flip flops to work one day. No big deal I guess, because I was able to wear blue jeans and sport shirts as my work attire.
I do the same. I keep my standard flip-flops just in front of my seat. I have had my car for just over three years since new, and I have never -- not even once -- driven it with shoes of any kind on. And since it's a stick shift, I get to manipulate the pedals (shouldn't that be "pedipulate"?) very deftly because my feet can feel them, unlike people who wear shoes to drive. -Jeffrey
A long, rough stretch of road baking in the hot Florida sun, I can understand; but what bearing does changing a flat tire have to do with keeping a pair of shoes handy? I could change a flat barefoot. Makes no difference, to me. -Jeffrey
