I know how important voting is... how every vote counts. But I constantly ask myself, who should I vote for? I have an idea of who I will vote for, but I'm afraid they too will end up ruining the country. Who can I trust? Each candidate is a pawn, a tool. Each one could end up being a great president, but more likely another screw up.
I'm not asking you guys who i should vote for, but of course if you want to tell me go right ahead. But I mean, I'm scared that whoever I end up voting for is only going to hurt the country more. How can you trust politicians? How can you trust the presidential candidates? How can you trust anyone?

First off you need to figure out your political views.

Small government, lower taxes, strong military, finish the job in Iraq, moderate social conservatism: Republican

Big government, higher taxes, leave Iraq, moderate social liberalism: Democrat

Generally though, what I do is look at a person's record, and that usually tells you if they are trustworthy or not. Its all fine and dandy all the promises these people are making, but you should look at whether or not they have walked the walk.

Your in Arizona, so you may be more familiar with John McCain, as he is a Senator for your state, and your state is pretty much guaranteed to go Republican.

As far as trust-worthy, principles, doing what they said they would do, I order my prefernece as:

    1) John McCain (most trustworthy to me)
    2) Barack Obama
    3) Hillary Clinton (least trustworthy to me)

I know my political views. I'm not a democrat, DEFINATELY not a Republican... I'd say I'm more of a Libertarian.
I don't like McCain one bit. he's just another war monger.

Well, it's become pretty clear that the single greatest threat to our species is the Republican Party. If you believe in the Bible, Armageddon, the final nuclear war with Iran, and the Return of the Jesus, vote Republican. They have WMDs, plans to attack Iran, and will see that this nightmare comes down in as dramatic and painful a form as they can. They're only waiting because they're still building it up for maximum hurt.

If you're against the party of the Final War, and their plans to see mankind wiped off the face of the earth for Jeebus, then vote for the candidate most likely to defeat those monsters even if you don't like who you're voting for.

For me, that means I'll vote for Democratic Party candidates. Not because they're not largely evil also, but because if the greater evil prevails, we as a species are not likely to survive the outcome.

if absolute power corrupts absolutely, then voting for the lesser of evils will only prove to empower and strengthen the evil that is within those that aint quite as evil as the others..

evil is still evil, and at this point IMO anyone that thinks hillary or obama is any less evil than mccain has blinders on..

    Blinders? No difference?

Consider McCain's positions on starting wars based on lies, his position on torture, his position on privacy, his position on the use of military force against American citizens in their homes, his position on Habeas Corpus, his position on governmental oversight and checks and balances, his position on whether you and I even have the right to ever appear in a courtroom if accused.

Oh yeah, and McCain has also fucked little boys and little girls in the ass. Iraqi kids. With shrapnel and white phosphorus, with the force and penetrative vigor of all his votes.

Update a few minutes later: After careful consideration of the above brother's advice, I hereby reserve the right to say the same things about Obama or Hillary should they end up equally corrupted by power :)

But really, who says that you have to vote for anybody? Not voting IS voting; this says that you don't support ANY candidate.

o.k. sunlion just gloss over the fact that hillary voted for the war.(dont say she did it based on lies, her husband was president up until less than 2 and a half years before the vote to go to war,she out of all that voted for the war was most informed of the truth or lack there of.)she has made it clear that she has no intentions of pulling out of iraq if elected. she openly said she would attack iran if they attacked israel.
shes for requiring women to register for the draft.
she wants to add 100,000 new police officers(iraq battle hardened storm troopers) to our streets.
    McCains position on privacy??PFFFT,hillary was a co sponsor on S. 1858,supports H.R.1955. S 1959.
in 2007 judicial watch named her the number 1 corrupt politician in washington.

oh and then theres obama, member of the C.F.R.,he has Brzezinski as his mentor.while he says he wants out of iraq,he also wants to add another 100,000 troops to our military, and shift the war theater back to Afghanistan, hell he even threatened to invade pakistan.hes for requiring women to register for the draft.voted yes on the reauthorization of the patriot act.supports H.R.1955 S 1959,he will vigorously enforce the statute that allows the military to recruit on college campuses.in 2007 judicial watch named him the number 8 most corrupt politician in washington.

there is so much more,i could go on and on,but after looking at what little ive used for comparison,,i really dont see any need..

they are all elitist neocons,,there is no difference in there core agendas .

if you think there is,then either you are not very well informed or you have blinders on.

    OBAMA '08

I would vote for Rev. Wright before I'd vote for John McSameAsBush.

Hell, if people listened to the full context of his sermons and speeches and done a little research, you'd all stop sucking McBushCain's dick and realize our government REALLY IS fucked up and America is not a legion of super angels.

We fuck up and we have fucked up other nations in the past, present (and will in the future).

If I had the money and resources on me at this time, I would follow my friend and leave this country before it's too late.

o.k. sunlion just gloss over the fact that hillary voted for the war.

But she didn't. She voted to authorize war, if necessary, to get the weapons inspectors into Iraq. With that threat of force in place, Iraq permitted extensive inspections, and as a result, we knew before the war started that Saddam did not have WMDs. That vote could have prevented the war, and certainly would have had there not been a fuckin' Republican madman in the White House.

The fact that Bush has tried to falsely argued that the aforementioned vote was authorization to attack Iraq without cause does not mean that the vote was in fact an authorization for a war of conquest.

McCain has now vowed to keep US troops in Iraq not only as long as he's president, but has promised that our forces will occupy that nation quite literally forever.

Oh, and I see that Bob Barr is supposedly running for president now. I'd never heard of Barr until he became famous a decade or so ago for his attacks on non-Judeo-Xian religions (Barr was trying to have suspected "witches" kicked out of the military). Barr is one of the most reasonable Republicans alive, but I think we'd literally have witch-burnings in this country if he gets elected.

Well, I have come to the conclusion that Hillary is evil. And McCain scares me because he is old and bitter and hardened by war. As for Obama, well he talks a good game but probably is just "talking game"....

    http://www.eyeblast.tv/Public/Video.aspx?rsrcID=2036

Nader is the best choice in my opinion, but the guy runs every time and he never has a chance. You can't blame a guy for trying, he IS a "true patriot", trying to keep the American Dream alive and achievable. I feel bad for him....I feel bad for us. It's either Obama or McCain, because ole Hilly is running on empty.

And if some of the info in the video of the above link hits mainstream, which I am sure it will, Obama is done. So, John McSame will be president and he'll more than likely start some more shit with some other shithole country somewhere and run the economy so far into the ground that we become slaves to the Chinese.

    on the bob barr note..
being that more often than not i have voted libertarian all my adult life.when i heard bob barr was running as a libertarian i was flabbergasted to say the least..

yesterday i was looking for a expose of some sort of what a anti drug nazi he was when he was my congressman.. yes that is correct,,i know bob barrs republican politics like the back of my hand..

anyway,,i was the dumbfounded to discover that for quite sometime now bob barr has been a lobbyist for MPP..

WTF? when he was a prosecutor here in georgia he was putting people under the jail.he single handedly killed the M.M bill back in the 90's with his barr amendment and now hes for the legalization of marijuana and is running as a libertarian?

    I DONT BUY IT!!
i urge anyone thats considering voting libertarian to look at barrs past record. he is a wolf in sheeps clothing.
