Hello everyone! I know it's been a while... I hope some of you still remember me. I'm here to ask for your help.. I'm reaching out to everyone. This is really important, so please bare with me. In 2003, my Mother-in-Law found out that she had a tumor on her left knee. Five years have passed and since then Ana has undergone 7 painful surgeries and many different treatments. However, last night’s surgery was the most difficult one Ana had to go through, for the Doctors had to amputate her left leg. The life-threatening tumor Ana has been battling for the last 5 years is gone but now she will have to face many physical and financial difficulties. Ana lives by herself in Brazil, she has no parents and no siblings; she only has her son (my boyfriend) and her friends to count on. A prosthetic leg is the miracle Ana needs to begin this new phase in her life. However, a new leg is very expensive, so please, contribute with anything you can (a $1... 50cents... anything). I will take the first step by contributing with $500 dollars. Her son Julio had to put his studies on hold and is working like a mad man in construction everyday of the week to help her. He couldn't be by her side last night because he had to choose whether he would spend the money on a plane ticket or if he would send it to her. It broke my heart. We are trying to raise money here in Canada while her friends in Brazil do the same. Our goal is to raise $8,000 to get her a new leg by Christmas. I know $8,000 is a lot of money, but a friend of hers in Brazil already agreed to give her $1000 in Brazilian money (which should be about $600 in Canadian dollars)... Her friends are getting together and I'm sure they'll raise a lot. Plus I'm gonna give her $500 dollars and Julio will be the biggest contributor of all, giving her all the money he makes. I know we can do this, as long as we stick together! I'm asking people everywhere... my family, my co-workers, classmates, my friends, I'm even thinking of asking people on the streets.
