Whenever i watch something on the news about pot, violent videogames, porn, whatever; it always seems like someone always brings up "But what message is it sending to kids?" Like people argue about medicinal marijauna, people are worried about what message it sends "to the kids" I think this is ridiculous, our laws should not be shaped on what message they send. Should the man with Multiple Sclerosis have to sit in pain for the rest of his days because if he was allowed to smoke pot, little timmy would want to try it to? Also, kids are not retarded, they know that medicine is for sick people and if they are not sick they dont need it. And yeah, i realize that when they refer to "the kids" they are referring to me to
Yeah, but dude, kids do try medicine. Xanax, valium, percocets, Dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, etc are all medicines abused. But I do agree, 100% that legislation should not be based on that, partly because, it may be easier to get illegally from some guy, than it is to get legally from the pharmacy w/out Rx
I don't get the "what is it saying to the kids" arguement for MJ, either. From the medicinal perspective, its medicine that is appropriate in treating a variety of REAL illnesses. Morphine has meddicinal and recreational purposes, but nobody knocks the guy doing heavy duty opiates. Anyway, its all just propaganda and hypocrisy. If you can see through the bullshit, good. Cheers buddy
Well I am a dedicated pot smoker and calling it a drug is just bullshit. My boys are very educated about marijuana and when the school gives these bs lessons on drugs or show movies that lump the effects of meth and cocaine use with effects of pot they (my boys 11,14) both know its bs and the govt way of confusing and intimidating todays youth. Both of my sons are straight edge but are also tolerant of the life of pot smokers. By the way they know that if mom and dad didnt smoke they would defintly not make it through the week with some of the dumb shit they do lol
Kids aren't stupid, and if they want to try something, no matter how hard it is, and whether it's legal or not they will get hold of it, and they will try it. Legalise it, take the taboo away. That's a better way to protect the kids.
I think a big problem with the youth of this nation is we lie to them about so many thangs. Like pot for example then children wonder what else we have lied about. it creates a lack of trust. Then they dont know who to believe and wind up following bad role models thats why we have so many little wanna ba gangstars running around.
