Looking to buy a loop pedal for my guitar (been using my friends and they're amazing) i could sit there and play one for hours, but anyways, looking for the best deal i can get for under $200, so far i've found the Boss one thats like 170 and has had some good reviews, if you could give me some advice that'd be well appreciated, whether you actually bought it, heard some good stuff about it or wutever . If you could post a link to it or something that'd be nice too, thanks
DigiTech JamMan Looper Pedal, is a cheapO' one and youll be spending more on a quality pedal. Id go for the BOSS.. If it 170. Its worth every penny. But you can goto a used music store and get a better one for less. use your head and feed your head with cash saved. Boss RC-20XL Loop Station retails at $270.00..
Here's the boss pedal my friend has that i've used, its pretty nice thinking about buying this but im going to go and try out a bunch of different ones... http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Boss-RC2-Loop-Station-Stomp-Box?sku=487040
yeah thats Half a model as the 20XL.. worth it, good construction.. Basically that is a pro pedal.. Proly see it on many a stage including mine.. I got to bust out of here for a min.. Ill hit you back.
Alrite sweet, one more question, does this pedal or most pedals loop themselves as in they keep repeating unless you stop it or do you have to press it down again every time the riff is done?
this depend on how modifided you want to get, Just a note that a loop isnt nothing new, Recorded tracks are the only way to get studio sound in live situations. as with any guitar pedal device effect you win some you lose some as to effects and unwanted noise from other effects and ungrounded mix match pieces. So id want to keep all my tools as easy to manage as possable. the way to go is with effect pedals that have multi layering and moldings. You will pay the same in the end. Say you get a 500 dollar effect by Boss or Roland. Youll save space time and all the other shit that really does matter.. I realize you might not have the money also. But Its good to know in the end what your really after if you do get some cash to play with, I dont know how serious you are as to playing the guitar.. /effects are cheap and some are expencive, If you want good quality and cheap price Id go with Barringer all the stufff is made in Germany and is usually high grade plastic, and pedals go down as low as 20 dollars.. /but I dont think they have loops, the Boss XL50 is what your looking at in the end. Each track loop is turned on just like a CD recording, So say your playing a riff or a rhythm you can lay down the peice and be two or three guitarist at once. Without the need of another player.. kinda comes in handy when your kicking a person out of the band.. lol. Boss RC-50 XL Loop Station -The RC-50 is the most feature-laden Loop Station BOSS has ever built. With its seven footswitches you can manipulate three stereo phrase tracks simultaneously. Each track supports multiple overdubs, so phrases can be stacked one by one on each track, resulting in a monstrous layer of looped phrases. If you want the ultimate Fripp-in-a-box.
The BOSS is probably the most popular... but if I were you, I'd scope around for a good deal on a Gibson Echoplex - Up to nine loops simultaneously - Playback and record simultaneously - 198 seconds of looptime - Overdubbing with progressive 'Undo's available - All functions accessible in real time from footpedal - Play backwards guitar parts live I personally consider it the best on the market.
^ does that piece come in a floor model? Or only a rack.. I like that its nice. Though I havnt much rack equipment. But that is a luxury Im working on. Let me correct myself.. Overall thats the kinda stuff you want in the End..
It's a rack unit with a remote floor pedal... it's totally worth it... I could think of a million things to put in a rack... but I'm just a broke sound engineer
One other note... Behringer stuff works great until it breaks. I "freshness date" all my behringer gear
ha ha how true.. But some of it not worth repairing. Ive been running a ZOOM 505. that will act up and switch on its own..I just kick the shit out of it till it stops.. But its a piece that belonged to a freind of mine and he passed away.. thats the only reason why I still have it on the floor.
I believe Zoom is actually owned by Samson... Multi effects are no match for good 'ol fashioned stomp boxes... ever consider building your own?
I stay away from multi effects, The zoom as I said belonged to a late freind. The only multi efect I have is a rolands gr20, But had built my own stuff when I was into electronics as a teen, But now I just buy most of the hardware.. Though I havent bought a new peice, in a while. Stings are about all thats new these days.. But if I see something thats a top of the line model used reasonable priced Ill get it.. I did get a morley Bad horse for 50 bucks around xmas.. I liked that deal.
the original "Boomerang"....its a phrase sampler. its the one trey uses and a friend of mine is sponsored by that company. amazing stage quality. its big, but its made to be manipulated by the foot. i have the jamman looper by digitech and its not easy to work with. when i want to turn the volume down with my foot it always sounds shitty. the boomerang has huge foot pedals for all your manipulating needs..;.;
jamman looper by digitech... ^ I think anything made by Digitech needs to stay on the shelfs at wal-mart.. Plastic jap junk. I dont know much else about their products. Other than the are ok for a beginner.. Not saying they cant be manipulated by a pro.. I just wouldnt buy them.
