An interesting pipe design

Hey guys. Recently the bowl in my little glass pipe broke so I used my stoner ingenuity to use this as an opportunity to make it bigger, faster, and stronger. I began searching my house for objects to use. I came up with idea I've never seen before.

I got the metal tube from an old hamster water bottle (you know how they have the metal ball inside). Washed it. Crimped about halfway down so the ball can't roll out. Then I used gum (don't worry I didn't chew it, I just worked with it under warm water) to use as an epoxy so seal the tube into where the bowl used to be.

Its best to explain in pictures.


The ball sits at the crimped spot while you load in the weed. Then you pull in the flame which pulls the smoke over the sides of the ball (the side facing you) and into the pipe.



When theres nothing but ash sitting in the tube, you just blow in the pipe and the ball literally launches the ash out.


I've found it hits very smoothly and draws the smoke very well. Am I the only one to think of this or are there pipes out there like this?

why not just smoke the bowl?

 

^ because the bottom broke and I'm guessing the hole is too big now.

 

only question i have is if the metal is ok to smoke out of, if its finished like it is on the outside, on the inside, im sure you have nothing to worry about. but if its unfinished inside, it might be a little health risky. seems like a good idea though, as long as it pulls good and the ball dosnt block the whole. nice work.

 

this is actualy pretty cool, i expecialy like the part where the ball launches the ash out as that is one of my pet peeves..

even if the pipe is unfinished, im sure you could buy a finished pipe.

You should show it to a headshop lol.

 

A lot of us stoners show off our McGyver side, but this might be the most useful little invention I've seen. Nice work!

that's pretty smart there.

 

the flaw in this is always having to keep the ball clean.. constantly otherwise it'll just stick there from resin.. personally.. if the bowl is completely spent just blowing through your bowl will spit the ash... also glass blunts push the ash out of the end of the pipe. if you're looking for an alternative

 

bloody brilliant! but the metal defeats the purpose of smoking out of glass

 

i'm gonna make one of these. it's an awesome idea. we may be witnessing the next generation of stoner technology.
