I know that all of us had plenty of discoveries and theories, ideas and creativity attacks, feelings, God presence, scientific explanations........ BUT, what discovery was the biggest, the most profound of all of them.

It is very difficult to pick one of all and to say that that one had the biggest influence on my further development and self creation, but I think discovery of us existing in more than one dimension at the same time was one that induced all others. That one is tightly connected with discovery of time, that past, present and future simultaniously coexist. I could write for days and mention almost all of them, but I think that theese two discoveries opened the door and paved the way for all the others, but I am still not completely sure.

    How about you?

That's funny Shapey, because my first moment of ACTUALLY experiencing the sensation of eternity as a single moment, rather than reading it in some book and rubbing my chin and saying "Aha! Time is an illusion!" was on a magic mushroom trip, and let me tell you that shit hurt, a sort of mental/physical pain, almost like nothing else. It was as if my bones were bursting and every peice of flesh covering them were being stretched out in every direction while my mind came to a sudden halt and everything I ever knew crashed into itself.
Same profound realization that God is reality and this one, all of them, are not, came on mushrooms as well. And it was another painful moment, but I think that is required for some in the same sense that beauty is painful and brings tears when it's overwhelming.
I guess for me, my truly profound moments come from mushrooms, and my liberating, Self discovery (more like renewed memory really) moments come from LSD. LSD allowed me to sweep the network clean in my mind, shaking out all of the personal hangups and roadblocks like insecurity, self doubt, being unbalanced. LSD is like yoga/ninja training for me, and mushrooms are like "Lay down and die".
I was just thinking that perhaps LSD showed me a deeper glimpse into the Nature of electricity, electromagnetism, aura's and the Light of Creation/3rd Eye deal, but nope, it was mushrooms that took that to a entirely profound level as well.
    Namaste!

And I agree wannaknow, greath thread ^^

I have yet to try acid but.. Mushroom realizations are the best.... the first time I tripped on shrooms, i realized that the plants and animals and every conscious being loves each other, and is guided by love. a wolf kills a deer not only to nourish itself but to honor the deer because it loves the deer and wants to honor it. the deer allows itself to be killed, because it loves the wolf and wants to help nourish it. Everything that happens in the natural world is a result of love. The reason humans are so fucked up is because we've forgotten how to love properly.

I also realized that I am a strong and powerful tribal warrior-ess of love. A being to be reckoned with.

on my most recent trip a few weeks ago, I was staring through my ceiling at an ancient ceiling, and I saw moving hieroglyphs of a goddess being eaten by smaller people, to gain something from her (knowledge? wisdom? power? not sure), and i realized that too had eaten her flesh. later during the trip, I realized that I was her and I had eaten my own flesh, and that I am a goddess.

I also discovered how much I hate boxes. boxes suck.

I also re-invented string theory... I saw silver strings like spider webs connecting absolutely everything in the universe. it was beautiful.

I ALSO discovered the pointlessness of clothing... a discovery which can lead to sexual situations. which happen to be wonderful while tripping. heh.

well I can't call my discoveries fact or anything, but they are as real to me as the existence of the sun.

primarily, my most important realization was the abundance of universal love as a sort of backbone for all existence. that has to be the most important because I don't think I would have ever felt it as clearly if not for acid.

another would be the surprise that sectarian religious ppl really aren't as wrong as I thought. they're only slightly wrong because rather than embracing evil with the good, they shun everything they see as evil, not knowing that good does not exist without evil and is even fed by evil. they mark their righteousness by what they deny themselves, cheating themselves out of transcendent good because of what they reject. this "slight" inconsistency is actually pretty huge: many misdefine good and evil altogether, but the bigger problem is any sort of exclusion, intolerance, and feelings of entitlement.

another huge surprising revelation to me was something I can't defend or explain: the notion that the reason we exist is so we can wonder why we exist. whether there are ultimate attainable truths out there or not is irrelevant, the purpose of this life is to feel isolated, uncertain. it's funny to see church-going folks classify the afterlife in so much detail...NO ONE knows those things. it would undermine the reason for humanity to know. we all "know" it profoundly as one collective being, but right now in our fragmented embodiments, we can at best receive glimpses, but for the most part, our collective Self doesn't want each of us vividly understanding eternity. 1 the temporal human mind is not calibrated for full truths and 2 it would spoil the joy of human existence to fully know. we can't have exquisite joy without the sorrow, and we can't know the rapture of love without first feeling lonely.

also, it seems to me that creation and the cycle of life requires our ignorance as fuel. in a perfectly united collective state there is no loneliness or isolation, so there's no drive to love, be loved. there's no motivation to do anything we humans do, since all our actions stem from the desire to remain living and to be happy. but if there's no life to lose, there's no reason to do all that we do. I believe that all our human activity creates a basic form of electric energy, similar to moving your feet across carpet to accumulate static electricity, and this energy that comes from our attempts is in part, the basic stuff and fuel of existence. our lives are a fun game for the universal entity we all are, but they're also necessary for the eternal transfer of energy that makes everything possible. the friction of our living creates energy that is comparable to one grain of sand on a beach. insignificant on its own, but without the grains of sand, there would be no beach, and no world at all.

True burnabowl, not only wondering why we exist but the Nature of all our perceived fragments of creation. God must be like a kid, since we keep playing games and come up with answers that only further to confuse us so long as we remain individuals. I would assume that the only universal truth is that there is no universal truth to the mind which is isolated, but even then I would be contradicting myself. So I'll just stick with my kid comment and let it be :)

thanks for the comments relayer and shape. One thing i have sort of come across in meditation is how some are such slaves to time and space (everyone is to an extent)

also i couldnt find that link that you posted for the meditation site if you could re-post it it would be awesome.

That I've been sitting around doing drugs thinking I'm chasing some great and faded dream. It almost scared me. "Don't overlook the obvious in truth", is what I came up with. Ofcourse I know 'doing drugs' being ultimately right or wrong is a matter of opinion, but it certainly doesn't agree with my conscious so much anymore.

Its no different from drinking milk, its just something you have a choice to do. Just because its illegal doesn't make it right or wrong. Think about the people who decide what is right/wrong or legal/illegal...

..but if you personally dont agree, its understandable - but dont let other peoples views back up a thought of yours that normally would of been disregarded, just because they are the ‘right’ things to think. Usually in times of doubt, one misguided idea (not a bad thing, everyone does it - just that drugs tend to distract you from it and sometimes mix certainty with doubt which is a near impossible thing to decipher) spawns a whole thinking pattern that could stick around for a while and ultimately affect allot of other decisions in your life; resulting in a belief system that has a fragile framework.

What do you refer to the obvious truth to be?

I discovered that my door can breathe, my pictures can circle on the wall, and everything is secretly moving behind my back. However, every time I drop its a good 10 hours of feeling refreshed every 5 minutes.

The biggest of all discoveries, without any doubt, was that - what ever you do from love is a right thing to do.
Think about it! First, when you try acid, you notice that you love your tripping partners much more than usual, then that you love nature, then this, that, and so on, but all started from love, and everything is happening from love. All other discoveries couldn't happen if you didn't start loving people around you, your family, nature, YOURSELF, God...................

All we need is love, love AND LET BE LOVED!!!
