Thing is hindsight follows us around like a smug relative. it's mantra being "i told u so". But hey, if anyone believes you can avoid any problems by being careful doesn't that mean a lifetime of "being careful?". sounds to me like you had the opportunity to meet a cool driver just when you synchronistically needed one. personally i've never met anyone who was "being careful" but taking it slow and easy seems like a safe way to meet "come what may" with good cheer.
