When I hear songs that I love me so badly want to be a singer, I don’t write music or lyrics and can’t play any instruments.
I would prefer to sing in a band if not then solo.

My voice is average but im going to get singing lessons.

Then I am going to get an agent.

You need your own equipment before seeing an agent what do you need.
Also don’t you need experience i.e. singing in clubs bands?

Any tips on getting agent to sign you.

Also to be a singer do you need to remember all the words of songs?

Once you have an agent how do you become a famous singer…. I don’t care which country I just want to be a a famous singer, its not for the money I just would love to sing to 1000s of people on stage and sing around the world and people to be able to hear my music….I would even do it for free if I could.

Why do people who have sang on cruise ship pubs and club go on the x factor why don’t they just get an agent.

You should probably learn to write lyrics. It's not really that hard, it just takes some intelligence and practice. You're going to have an extremely hard time getting signed and getting famous.

Thousands of people from all over the world have the same dream as you. Fame is more a thing of luck, knowing the right people, being in the right place a the right time, and you are competing with the other thousands for it. Also, being famous probarbly isn't as great as it looks, and many celebraties would no doubt tell you so.
A more realistic dream would be to start off singing somewhere you can easily get work. Even if it is only a few dozen people that hear you at first, it is better than nothing. Most big singers start somewhere, it is not an overnight thing.

    Hi [IMG]

Welcome to the International site of Poetry, Stories, Polls, Questions, Comments, and best of all Universal Words of Wisdom Places for Poets, writers, dreamers + Free spirited thinkers.

Before you get equipment, charter an Agent and 'Run'! It may be more advantageous to walk.

Keep it simple (both in writing and singing) practice free, If as you say money isn't a 'priority' then your practice could be for small groups, i.e. School Children - though their honesty could be cutting! Shopping Malls, Friends Parties. This should build your confidence and improve your performance.
Word will get around, perhaps you will enhance tour reputation and/or you contact Clubs etc.

If the dream is to be a Singer; then be that, it does not cost lots to do.
If your aspiration is for stardom, then that is a matter of fortune: Who: you meet, see and impress / Where you project your performance to its utmost advantage / How you appeal. (For example).

If you want it enough, you will find at least a degree of success in your quest.

Keep the faith, + "Enjoy" the process

You could always sleep with record company executives... but hurry up, you won't be young forever! Also, unless you're really good looking, it helps if you get plastic surgery first. And you should probably smoke crack before you do it, because it will help to kill the shame.

If you follow these words of wisdom, you will soon be calling Mariah Carey your personal best friend.

You neither need singing lessons nor an agent to be a singer or have your music be recognized. Just passion, dedication, and networking.

Passion: this part is obvious. Some of the most lauded artists in the world do not have polished singing voices, and yet their music is powerful because they sing with passion. If you have that, you don't necessarily need vocal lessons.

Dedication: this means putting in the extra 110%. You can post band ads online for free. You can set up a myspace or purevolume or soundclick account (or all of the above) and post your band's completed demos and other recordings on the sites. You can call venues yourself and ask if they'll have your band perform. You DO NOT need an agent to get exposure, especially not in today's music industry.

Networking: basically, meet as many like-minded people as possible, make those connections, and when you need something related to your band- say, a gig outside of your town, you can call up your friend or connection from that town and ask if they can help you out in that area.

You can pretty much build a fanbase from the ground up if you have/do these three things. Good luck, hope you come back and report on your progress :)
