is startrek any good at all. I never really got into it, but i havnt really seen it since i was like 10. I find si-fi is better in books, because you cant really illustrate si-fi with modern technology, but with words you can create anything.
they just filmed a new movie out on Taft Highway. Yup drove by the set woohooo for me.........no really, i cant stand Star Trek but hey it was cool seeing the set and all. Oh and not to mention the fact that some producer or worker on the set got into a car accident.
he wasn't IN ds9, except for a very small number of cameo appearances. shatner and nemoy both, away from their trek persona's, well even as actors, they are different people from what they portrayed in one thing or another. but i don't quite see how that pertains. nemoy is ok if you can keep him off his christer jag. shatner i've never met, but i think his trying to sing and the rest of it is kind of harmless, if also pointless, fun. roddenberry was about making people think about things they might not have otherwise, and to me, that is a very good and important thing. i think the biggest, perhapse only flaw, was its anthropocentricness. the idea that earth would have created a galactic federation rather then the much greater likelyhood of being a johnny come lately and new kid on the block to an already existing one. this fault i think came from and belongs to the all human univers that j.w.campbell, then editor of analog magazene insisted upon. not that he had anything to say about what came out of holywood, but his influence, during his time at analog, was widespread and pervasive. so ok; jery oh my (who started this thread), where's the blessed LINK? =^^= .../\...
As one can see, I am not a big fan of Star Trek at all, I do not even know the difference between what is what. Atlthough, when younger would have to sit through some of it as I had no other choice at times. Jer's photo just reminded me of how much William Shatner makes me feel like vomiting. He is obnoxious, disgusting, perverted looking, sickening man in my opinion. I have always felt that way no matter what he has starred in, or appeared on, or spoke on.......I turn the channel everytime the man is on. He is the most repulsing man I have ever seen or looked at. I would rather be invited to dinner with hannibal lector than have to look at him
I never really got into the DS9. But any addition the Star trek. Is ok. As long as the Captain isnt a Female. < Flame me.. I know I asked for it..
DS9 is wank, but it is at least better than Voyager. Captain Benji was one of the most wooden actings I have ever seen.
i am a total star trek fan. i love all things star trek. the original series is my favorite because of it had such an optimistic outlook for our future. i truly enjoy ds9 because it worked within roddenberry's ideas but, showed not such a wonderful view of the galaxy. ds9 was darker that anything mr. roddenberry produced.
I don't know what you were watching but capt sisko (avery brooks) was fantastic http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xWN0vsYt3ds&feature=related Sorry wrong video http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9HeWOtIDnE&feature=related Hotwater
Well I stopped watching star trek after DS9 season 4, maybe he grew into the role more towards the end. I found all the characters in DS9 quite wooden TBH. I did like some of the later episodes, but I found the show as a whole quite fakey and not in the true spirit of star trek, a lot of hard core classic ST will agree with me on that. I thought Babylon5 was way better, and here's a piece of scifi trivia for you. B5 came out after DS9, but the premise for B5 was originally the inspiration for the DS9 star trek spin off. B5 was in the making long before DS9 was conjured up.
Garak! I remember that motherfucker. Yeah he was cool, one of the best characters from that show. You know that show would really have benefitted from some better scripts, set and direction.
