Do you like camping by yourself (or one maybe two others), or do you like getting a large group together? I prefer to go alone, or with my family. Of course the dogs are always there too.
I like to go camping with small groups... when you get large groups its hard to plan... and there is always at least a little drama.
two or three people, only friends. but once i went camping with big group of people i hardly knew, they enjoyed themselves so it can't be dumb idea. but i don't know that much people i'd like to spend all few days with.
A bunch of my friends went camping last night. They asked me to go along, but I didn't want to stay where they went (some city park by the river). I went to hang out with them for a little bit though. Almost literally every other camp site had a television sat up, most of the campers out there extremely loud. Everyone had chainsaws and sawzalls. The fires were all ungodly huge. Everyone kept throwing plastic and chunks of styrofoam into the fire, no matter how many comments I made, they'd always respond with "I know, but oh well". Finally I just left. I never thought about why I like camping with just my family or alone, but now I know. I wish I had some friends with the same respect for the world as I have.
Me and my dog. I don't know enough people who respect the earth enough not to do the bad things you listed. Rather just be alone and avoid the aggravation and that's pretty sad.
I go by myself. I think I could go with others, but I just haven’t found them yet. Also, I don't know anyone who really likes hiking and camping.
Really sucks man. Until recently I had been looking forward to going with my ex-boyfriend but now he's gone so its just me again. I guess because I enjoy tripping at my own pace, by myself. Again. Been in large groups before but mostly rainbows so issues were few about how we treated the Earth.
Hippylandscaper, I prefer to camp with a small group. The camraderie is better and it is quieter. Nothing worse that to be out camping and not being able to hear nature. Naturally, I like to choose places that are off the beaten path. Best, Jeff Marshall Tent Camping Tips
