These are pics taken from a helicopter that were posted on another forum that I frequent. They give you a good idea of the massive scale of this project, and how it makes the other skyscrapers look tiny in comparison.
Seriously, that's like wonder of the world kinda thing. I guarantee everyone who worked on all the planning stages of that was a man. "Yeah, it has to be really really big."
that is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen, I want to go there right now! *starts saving pennies*
that must be one of the most advanced structures ever to be engineered imagine all the safety shit they must be building into it incase of an earthquake. if I ever achieve my goal of becoming a global despot, I want my office to be in a huge tower like that
Exactly, look at that view of the rest of the city. Imagine working up there, it'd be crazy. I would love to smoke a blunt from a view like that, haha.
I bet the guy who designed that has a really small penis. Anyway, that's awesome, is it a taller height than what the WTC reached? Dubai is a great place, can't wait to go back there.
an astute observation that is likely as true almost anywhere. =^^= .../\... a tall building does less for me then an underground maze or other mazelike construction i could camp out in and live for free forever. i am happy though, that it isn't the u.s. this time, or the other continents where you usually expect such things. i think the islands are interesting, but i also thing everthing would be more so if it was more oriented arround modest, even micro, scale gudeways based public transportation. and i love cob constrution, and hay bale, and ferro cement, and even reinforced concrete that looks like them, and doesn't try to resemble shipping containers the way building codes insist upon. whoever said mud walls are ugly was a nut, or a lawer or a banker and still a nut. =^^= .../\...
