well im guessing, and could be completely wrong, that they have the exact same trip as us, minus the visuals. obviously since they are blind there senses are stronger they will have a stronger trip but i wouldnt imagine it would be way stronger. i would also imagine they do have closed eye visuals cause ive seen stuff with closed eyes that not only have i never seen befor but i couldnt have even imagined.

Personally I could close my eyes for hours sitting in one spot tripping. It would probably be crazy for the persons other senses since they're used to going through life already without being able to see. If they could still walk they'd probably wander around just like a normal day or whatever. It'd be awesome cuz people would help them out if they got lost since they're blind.

the same things we dream about. events of the day, loved ones. they have memories, they smell, taste, feel, and love. all of these can be present in dreams without vision.

this question was already answered in a another thread. a blind person wrote in and told us that he trips like most of us, but probably deeper, and without visuals.

Funny you ask this, when my friend and i were tripping a few months back in december we were talking and for like a year now she has been planning on seeing if she can find a blind person to do the test for her. But the question she wanted to answer was "if you gave a blind person acid, would they see the colors?"

  5. EXACTLY my question...

Everyone says the blind still smell, touch, hear, but it is irrelevant if they can not SEE. They have no idea what this world looks like, but they still dream about it? Doubtful..

So their trip, more than likely, could bring a lot to the theories of psychadelics, especially LSD.

ive always wondered this question, and it boils down to the mechanism of blindness. blind since birth im going to assume is an underlying physical problem with the visual cortex, so tripping would produce no visuals in any way....however, what about synesthesia? could they somehow "perceive" sight w/o actually seeing anything? such a crazy topic, only one way to find out. seems like a lot of potential to be a terrifying experience tho lol...talk about easily losing your grip on reality!

i see what snochbors saying, the bilnd haven't seen any color besides black. are the hallucinations seen on lsd by nature, or a product of the users reality?

perhaps those "hallucinations" are always there, and all it takes it pineal gland stimulation to perceive. they're more "exaggerations" than hallucinations anyways.

So you think they don't dream at all? I think that's very ignorant. Dreams are not always visual, even for us seeing folks.

  11. Ignorant? I don't see how so. And, well, we are talking about the visual ones, you know, when you're asleep?

    killuminati, you get it.

I am sure this isn't he place for such a question..

Thank you to everyone who has posted to this thread. You have provided me with great levels of entertainment.

I am blind, and will share some information with you.

    1. Blind people from birth dream only in noises, touch, smell, and taste. Color or random visualizations are nonexistant. I know plenty totalls as we call them, and no one sees anything (awake or asleep).
    2. Blind people who loose sight will loose imagry after about 3 years. Think about the last time you tried to remember someone's face from your childhood, or perhaps a distant relative. Details will be missing if you can remember what they look like at all. Imagine forgetting what the fridg looks like when you go for the muchies or the OJ while grinding your teeth.
    3. I have not lost all sight but have lost enough that imagry is fading and I do not have very visual dreams. I expect to loose all vision and imagry by the time I'm 50, but it isn't going to stop me from having fun. I don't need to see to smack a tight but with my hand or hear the swat a riding crop makes on a bare ass.

I have tripped acid and had a kick-ass time doing it, but it was different for me. My friends would ask me what I saw and I would explain it and they would oooohh and aaahhhh over it.

The visuals I had as a tripping teen would not be the same as the ones I would have now if I tripped. I don't know what I would see now, but it probably wouldn't be much. However, sex on acid is a different story, because now I'd be using a different sense, and If I'm lucky (taste), and lets not forget smell. I'm loving the thought of it all now.

Well anyway, I'm sure this is going to spawn a whole new string of questions, so I'll quit jabbering now.

    Blind Man Out!!!

closed eyed visuals are created by light playing on your eyelids. dreams are caused by dmt. i think they would just get a really awesome body high, and the psychological effects of it. just think, if you couldn't see, how would you be able to see closed eye visuals. my roommate needs glasses bad, and she has a hard time seeing her hallucinations cuz they all run together. if you couldn't see, you couldn't hallucinate. it really is that simple.

just to throw a grenade in here... what about blind/ sight impaired synaesthetes?
I've yet to meet a blind synaesthete, but the couple of Deaf/HoH synaesthetes I know have what we'd call auditory experiences.
