if you decide to brew starbucks coffee, you'll have a lot of licensing issues and so forth to go through.

    i dont know about others.

seattle's best is owned by starbucks, so i'd assume it would be similar.

mcdonalds has some of the shittiest coffee available. i'd rather drink folgers or maxwell house, to be honest.

a good idea would be to learn about roasting your own coffee in your shop, to achieve the freshest and highest quality coffee available, not tto mention a very inviting aroma.

then you can buy green coffee beans and blend them to your liking or offer single origin coffees, or both.

latin american coffee is a must, but i personally have a deep and undying love for african coffees. theres some good stuff from southest asia and islands in the pacific, as well.

i would personally say kona is very overrated and not always even very good, but it would likely be a big seller if you offer it.

having a wide selection of high quality loose leaf tea would be very desirable, as well, and make sure to run the gamut from green to white to black to herbal teas of many varieties.....

We have NO INTENTION what so ever with brewing shitty over roasted sbux beans. we only included it for Market research purposes. I posted this survey on this site because I wanted to get the most varities in our answers as possible and I post here often and value the opinion of this sites posters.
Our reasoning for including sbux in the poll was to compare the consumer demand to Bean around the worlds - which is the bean of choice at the moment. Living in Vancouver I worked at sbux in the past and currently work at Take 5 cafe, but one of my co workers has come up to me with a proposal and I've decided to help him out with some of the Marketing and stuff.
I also believe that Bean around the world does their own roastin on location as well.
To be completely honest, Take 5 drip coffee sucks. ass. They have Canturbury roast thier beans and I can't say much for anything other than the Espresso roast "When in Rome".
Generally I've noticed a hike in demand for Bean around the World, as when I lived in Kits, Vancouver the Bean around the world location which was not even a block away from a starbucks, often rivalled the sbux location. so on and so on.

All in all, thanks for voting! And thanks for the tips!

yeah, roasting on location is a good way to go if you can do it well.

honestly i dont drink too much drip coffee regardless of where i go. usually just straight espresso (in small quantities, i dont often like high doses of caffeine) or tea.

oh and im a huge tea drinker as well.

In black teas I prefer Bombay Chai when I want something sweeter, and Darjeeling otherwise, but with Green teas, while jasmine is nice when you want something really strong and robust, I enjoy Genmaicha Brown Rice Green Tea for something delicate, and Hojicha when I can't decide on either
I'm not a fan of white teas, but i love African Rooiboos.

Blenz does this Rooiboos Chai tea misto that I just die for.

i really dig genmaicha, but i like bancha as well. matcha is my favorite.

i also recently tried gunpowder tea. but it wasn't loose or anything, it was filterbags by a company i'm not very familiar with called numi. its pretty decent i think.

i do admit i like earl grey a lot for black teas, and think its one of the best teas to add cream to (or better yet steamed soymilk)

most black teas i've had i dont care much for. i dont like to sweeten my tea much if at all, and most black teas i've had i just find bitter. some are good, though.

i'd like to try more types of tea, especially in the area of black tea but also with green and oolong teas

i'm really interesting in getting some flowering teas...decorative blossoms constructed of tea and such wich blossom during the infusion and create a beautiful display...

ooh I think I've had that at a restaruant in Vancouver called Shanghai 49
I love that stuff! you can add like cup after cup of hot water to the same blossom and it still tastes as strong as the first cup! my boyfriend and I drank like 20 little cups of tea that night XD
I love matcha! I totally forgot about it because its powdered :p i dont really think of it as tea I guess.. well you know how when you were little you had that powdered chocolate stuff that you would add to milk? i kind of think of it like that only instead of just adding it to milk, I dissolve it in hot water first.
When I'm at work I like to pour the dissolved matcha over ice and top it with plain soy milk *yum* and sometimes when I want it sweet I use vanilla silk soy milk.

I've never tried bancha, but I think i should. also I want to try Sencha - have you tried that?

no, i dont believe i have.

i want to get an ice cream maker so i can make ice cream flavored with matcha and fresh ginger.

i think matcha is my favorite tea, though. and i think it's different than like powdered chocolate....because it is plain tea leaves, just ground up. its gotta be even healthier for you than regular green tea i'm sure....

    anyway i love it!

right now i'm having constant comment, though.

i dont much like rooibos though. but if you mix it with like some hibiscus and lemon or something like that its pretty palatable.

well of course its not like chocolate powder mix :p i mean that its just similar in its physical form - I usually think of tea bags or tea pots with the word tea pops up :p not some leaf powder you kno what I mean?

Hi there. Personally im a big fan of coffee and tea. I drink starbucks when im out and about up town purely because in my opinion they do the best filter (drip) coffees (every other damn coffee place round here seems to do americanos only, eg Costa's, Nero's etc.).

Im from the UK btw. I drink my coffee black no sugar and my tea with no sugar or milk either. sugar and milk to my mind impede the true natural flavour from coming through.

As for tea, i agree with both of you that genmaicha is fantastic. Gunpowder green is good too, but i think Japanese sencha is perhaps the best green tea i have ever had. As for a favourite, I would recommend green tea with jasmine. A truly sublime combination :)

I'm the weird one, then...I cold brew my coffee...a pound of ground, 7 pints of water, left for 24 hours in the fridge, decanted, then mixed to whatever strength you prefer. No bitterness, (as a matter of fact, it's so smooth I drink the concentrated brew undiluted, with just a bit of sugar)

    I hate starbucks..their crap isn't roasted, it's burnt.

I for one need at least 3 cups of coffee each morning and sometimes one before bed. Though, I definitely prefer espresso. The best tasting roast you can get is Velvet Hammer...
I didn't vote in your poll because I've never heard of any of those distributors. As such I would suggest an independent fair trade coffee distributor, any would do...

I usually try to drink one to two cups of coffee a day...and I make them at home. I haven't really tried buying coffee from restaurants as of yet.

Love the smell of coffee, hate the taste and the way it dehydrates you.
