why the fuck do people try and talk me down from $100 to $15 for my used couch?

If I had a hundred, I'd pop for it, but then again, I've got practically no furniture.

i hate buying bathing suits from stores, because i just know people get naked and try those things on, and then when i buy them i have to wash them right away, or else i feel i'm going to get some std or something from them. ughh..

eh, its really not my style, i probably wouldnt take it 'less it was free. then again, we have as many couches as we need, and like i said its not my style

used couches and mattresses kinda eck me out anyway, unless its used from someone i know. couches get used for all sorts of things (*cough* or at least, ours have), not really something you wanna share. hell, an old manager of mine used to have a couch on her porch taht was referred to as the anal sex couch, because she knew a friend of hers had done anal on it with his girlfriend (hence it being on the porch and not inside the house proper)

    heh yea.

One of my older houses 4 hot lesbians use to live in it, and they left a couch that smelt like sex... i wanted to keep it but my parents got rid of it. Would be kind of fucked though.

You people are way too spoiled.

Hell, I'll take anything that's free. If I have no use for it, I'm sure I can find someone that does.

But I would never pay for a couch, I could probably find a free old one behind some dumpster.

it is always good to have some nice furniture though. For the most part i dont care, i know when i live on my own ill take as much freebe's as i can, but it just comes down to comfort levels.

When you think of many animals and how if you touch their babies the parents will disown them... it almost but not quite totally unlike that.

Man, you can find some nice couches for free out there. There is usually something wrong with them, but fixin' them is a fun project.

I pass half of my college existence sleeping on people's old, used couches... and man, I think that I'm pretty damn comfortable as long as I have enough space to stretch my legs and don't have any springs poking at my sides.

If I didn't have a futon, I'd contemplate spending $100 on that couch. But I have a futon, that was free.

I found the most comfortable couch i've ever laid my ass on at goodwill for 30 bucks. But I don't have my own apartment to put it in yet, so it's still just sitting at goodwill :(

i recently picked up a couch off the side of the road. it had only been there a very short time but it kinda smells a little like a basement. its not too bad though. throw a couple sheets over it and you cant even see the missing buttons. its very comfortable and it has a pulllout bed too. i dont think cate would approve of it, though.

I wish I could have that couch. I'd pay $100 for it. It looks clean, you said it's new, and all three seats fucking recline! Fuckin a! Me and my sis have been wanting to get a couch for my room. I live upstairs and my room is pretty large. It's also basically our entertainment area (where we keep our TV, computer, and video games).

I put an ad on the internet last night giving away two quality armchairs ($600 new) and a corner couch. got a reply almost instantly, "interested in the armchairs. are they stained or full of holes? reply quickly"
    people are morons sometimes.

a used couch might be WORTH more then a hundred dollars, it might have cost a thousand when new, or a new equivelant might, but if someone doens't NEED another second hand couch more then fifteen dollars worth, they don't. and that's all there is to it.

of course that is, as has been point out, the value of places like e-bay and craig's list on the net. that things like that CAN find someone out there to whome they might be worth what you want for them.

personally i could give a rat about all that buying and selling stuff. the only stuff i care about are things i can actually use to do things i get gratification out of doing.

like stuff for the computer or my little trains or what have you. and those, i do like to go to places where i can see what i might get up close and in real life.

places like fry's or the train store, yard sales and flea markets and farmer's markets and so on like that.

you know, i like to go grocery shopping because even that is something i can be creative with. or art supplies or what have you.

a couch to me is just something that kind of takes up space. we have a little two and a half seater that's just big enough for my wife and i to sit and watch the slide show on the computer while listning to our local noncomercial indy radio station that plays all kinds of wierd stuff the comercial stations don't.

In reality, all things are only worth what somebody is willing to pay.
