I just thought of a funny movie. Title: Jesus Christ. (the entire movie however has NOTHING to do with religion or whom we think of as Jesus Christ, so please everything has no intention of the lords name) The actual movie is just a story of a day in the life of a man named Jesus Christ. It would be cool. You could have his childhood growing up and when he is playing sports with his older brothers they harrass him and say things like "Jesus, get the fuck over here you stupid faggot", and "Cmon Jesus, keep your eye on the ball dude". And even greater, you can have some good actors play Jesus (Will Ferrell) and his friends can come over and be like "Hey Jesus, whats up dude?" in which Will Ferrell cleverly replies "Nothin man, just hangin out." I could think of a hundred funny situations ya know???
I find this extremely offensive. You cannot even refer to our lord and saviour Jesus Christ like that. Jesus died for your sins and filming or even thinking of a movie like that will send you straight to hell together with Will Ferrell, that heathen. You need to open up your heart to Jesus Chirst and accept his infinite and potent glory. Jesus will then spread his seed throughout your unworthy soul and cleanse you of your impurities. I don't think it is a cool Idea... I agree with the second post... Finding Christ was the best thing I ever did... But You said it has nothing to do with The religous fact of things.... But infact it does... you are playing off of the name for one... And making fun of the religion for the other... The only reason it would be funny is because some people like to take the lords name in vain... and the constant gags would get old... It would be crappy satire humor...
I think people should respect other peoples religion but at the same time this photo is pretty damn funny.
^ Just because certain characters disrespect religion in it doesn't mean they all or the film overall has to. The movie would almost have to include the controversy of the name.
Religion aside...lines like "Hey Jesus, whats up dude?" in which Will Ferrell cleverly replies "Nothin man, just hangin out." Uh... not funny ...unless someone was unbelievably stoned...in which case everything is funny. I don't think a movie studio would pick this screen play up unless MJ were offered at every movie theater showing the film. Now, that would be funny. Snack sales would skyrocket!!!
