I have a lot of respect for the guy. One of my favorite intellectuals. I don't agree with everything he says, but his experience seems to be very similar to mine in my quest to understand the mind and the nature of reality. Don't know about his stoned ape theory though, while it does make sense; we still need empirical evidence to prove that our early ancestors ate mushrooms on the grass plains of Africa. But Habit and Novelty seems to make a lot of sense and I do think together with entropy....habit and novelty are fundamental aspects of all realities. Change is the only universal, we can change for the better as in novelty or change for the worst as in entropy. Or we can decide not to change and cling to habit. Him, Alan Watts, and Timothy Leary inspire me a lot.
McKenna was probably my favorite speaker, period. He is an amazing orateur and his musings and ramblings sound like a university textbook written in poetry.
