Was in the book shop today and saw that book "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" and started flicking through and was wondering what movies you people would suggest, lets say top 5. Here's 5 I remember from the book : 1 - Nosferatu, A Symphony of Terror 2 - High Noon 3 - Ben-Hur 4 - Psycho 5 - 2001: A Space Odyssey
1 - Harold and Maude 2 - Monty Python and the Holy Grail 3 - One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest 4 - The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly 5 - Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears
It's Russian. It's extremely good. There are alot of extremely good Russian movies, yet the most sincere humor and human relations in the world tend to get lost in translation.
I've never seen it either. I added it to my queue on Netflix, it seems interesting. I dont think I've ever seen a Russian movie, but I'm not sure.
keeping it only two five is tough!!! 1 blue velvet 2 deer hunter 3 easy rider4 clockwork orange and up in smoke not nessiceraly in order of importance
I've yet to see a movie so good that a person's life would be that much worse for having not seen it.
The Life of Brian La Vita e Bella Cry Freedom One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest The Shawshank Redemption I'm sure that I would have a different list tomorrow but the first one would be a permanent fixture.
The Holy Mountain El Topo Akira Blues Brothers Ace Ventura All of these movies, preferably high on any number of chemicals, though the first two might drive you insane so for first viewing experiences, preferably sober
The Godfather Trilogy(DUHHH - Counts as one...) Scarface Star Wars (Episode 4 to 6 - again, counts as one) Every James Bond film (Excluding the ones with Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby - yes, all those count as one, don't argue with me) And now it's a tie between the Great Escape and Breakfast at Tiffanys (what the hell, they count as one, too. Because I'm cool :H ) I don't know how anyone can get through everyday life without seeing all these films
The Fly, Videodrome, Dead Ringers, M. Butterfly, and...something not by the same director um Fantastic Planet or maybe Sherman's March
Dead Man Pulp Fiction The Rules of Attraction Fight Club Igby Goes Down are my 5 favorites. But what everyone should see.. Taxi Driver The Good, the Bad and the Ugly The Godfather 2001: A Space Odyssey Citizen Kane
Pulp Fiction Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind American Psycho Almost Famous Leon the Professional Maybe not 5 absolute must-sees, but definitely 5 favorite movies.
