PIZZA! english muffin spaghetti sauce cheese toaster oven 3 min. Is it that he wont eat at all? or just being picky. My 7 year old is impossible to feed in the morning. I have 2 shelves of every kind of cereal bar u can imagine. But with both of my kids around that age ... they eat when they are hungry. Try not to stress it.
Moire is two. She eats: - smoothies (usually juice or rice/soy/hemp milk, frozen fruit, fresh spinach, and other assorted fruits/veggies blended) -gluten-free cereal with rice/soy/hemp/cow milk and a banana -scrambled eggs with ketchup -applesauce -ham, cheese, and apple slices -muffins, coffee cake, or bread with jam That's it. I feel boring.
My three year old is picky, too. All he will eat is raman noodles and banana's. And chocolate milk. I slip protein powder in his chocolate milk. And give him chewable vitamins. You just have to keep introducing new foods and hope for the best. Also, try Juicy Juice Harvest Surprise. It has veggie juice in with it, but you can't taste it. I think it's like 1/4 of the daily reccomended fruit and veggies. and don't be afraid of smoothies! You can toss in veggies and they won't know! Try pureeing some veggies or even meat <if you eat meat> and cooking it with oatmeal. Add lots of brown sugar and cinnamon to cover up the taste. Just remember that protein is so important at breakfast time. if the first protein they get is at lunch, they'll be sluggish and sleepy for a while after.
One thing I've noticed is that if M (or me, for that matter) has an exposure to wheat, to which we're sensitive, we crave it for weeks afterward. Nothing but that will do for us. And apparently, it's common that if you're allergic to something you'll be more apt to only want to eat that. So if your child's diet is limited, look at all ingredients in all the foods. Is wheat in everything? Is dairy in everything? Is soy in everything? Maybe try cutting those out. And yes, the kiddo will be not eating at all for a few days, but ply them with vitamins and a safe food they will eat, and after a few weeks, you never know. They might eat spinach!
Dakota eats leftover noodles, cold mac & cheese, cold pizza, cold beans. Whatever is in the fridge. The only time he eats "breakfast" foods is if I make pancakes or scrambled eggs. But the eggs have to be totally covered by cheese. Any part of the egg that he sees is not eaten. Kathi
