Hey I pirced(?) my lip and I have a problem. I did this on wednesday afternoon and now its friday morning and I still have this swelled lip. How long does it take for it to go away? Ive been putting hydrogen proxoide on it like twice a day.

hydrogen peroxide should not be used on puncture wounds. plus, if you use your mouth it will heal slower. i recommend sliding the post with peroxide, rinsing out, cleaning the post and sliding it back and forth with Bactine.

IMO face piercings are silly. tongue might be worth it, but i have seen people with cracked teeth, and thats not sexy.

I know like 6 people with lip piercings, and the swelling usually goes down within a day or two. I hope everything was sanitary..

i have my lip pierced.. well i took it out not that long ago, but it will stay swollen for a couple of days.
it will also be sore for awhile too, so be careful when you're eating/kissing/etc.
you shouldn't use peroxide to clean it out and DON'T USE MOUTHWASH.
mouthwash kills ALL the bacteria in your mouth, and you need some of the good bacteria to help it heal.
what i did was wash my face with regular dove soap or any bar of soap for that matter, and then use iodine to wash out the piercing and stuff.

get sea salt from a grocey store, put it in water and soak your lip in it. Best way to stave off infection.

the part of the body that reacts to iodine is the tyroid, and may all the gods help you if you fuck up that gland. it sucks big time.

Just clean it using saline solution. Yep, the same kind you get in the contact cleansing aisle at walmart. Warm it A LITTLE!!!!! Then, clean your piercing with it. Take some Ibuprofen and the swelling should go down. Dont use neosporin or alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. Just saline solution.

Im sure the piercing looks awesome. If youve got haters, you know youve done something right. I have quite a few piercings and I love the look of stainless steel metal going through the skin.

Quick Edit...do not use iodine. No reason to.
