Happy 21'st birthday from the cops!

Heres the story..

My 21'st birthday, was being responsible as always. Went out to a bar, had my wife Designated driver, came back to my place, started to chill out with 5 people total.

Night went on, was smokin my new water pipe, we ordered a pizza. I hear a loud knock, my dumbass just answers the door thinking it was pizza, its 5 cops. He looks sideways through my screen door and sees my bong, they come in and secure us. They take my bong, and my tiny bit of weed, they hook me up for 2 counts of misdameaner drug paraphernalia. My friend had a one hitter and a tiny bit of weed aswell, they hooked him up for the same. He also had 1 oxycodene pill, in which they thought was a felony so they take him to jail, when he gets to jail they figure out its not a felony but book him anyway. Had to pay $1000 to get him out.


For some weird reason they didnt take the bowl just sitting on my table right next to everything else, they also didnt touch my bubbler in the other room.

I got fucked over for nothing.. sitting in my house being responsible.. and then cops wonder why young people dont respect them.. or even why we dont vote.. hmm mabye because we have no rights?

Dont ever leave shit laying around when you answer the door.. big mistake. its funny because I was actuley starting to respect police again figuring this would never happen to me seeing as Im a very small personal user.. well I was wrong..

Great 21'st birthday! Now I guess im going to have to pay a shitload of money to a lawyer to make these charges go away.. all for nothing..

i got busted by the cops too when i was just sitting in my house being responsible and smoking. it sucks they bust the people that are responsible just sitting in their rooms doing nothing.

They didn't have a warrent, it was you who opened the door. That sucks man but it could've been avoided if you had actually known your rights instead of saying you have none. You won't get charged too hard hopefully.

 

I wanna know why they were knocking on his door in the first place.

 

Thats what im yet to find out, someone defenintly called but for what.. my nebiors wouldn't of told them drugs, or at least the ones right around me. Im pretty sure it was just someone who does not like us or someone I was with. Im guessing I will find out more when I get the police report.

 

Has anyone ever handled a charge like this? Any advice or even $ amounts would be helpful.

 

That sucks. I guess after they saw the bong you were fucked. They were going to come into your house.
Next time hide your stuff, and don't consent to any searches. You have rights.

Damn bro that sucks a shit ton. You shoulda caught a pig off guard and broke one of the fucker's noses. You really should have looked outside to see who it was first though. You coulda easily just turned the lights off and kept toking.

 

So long as you live in the states you NEVER have to open the door to a cop. Especially if they don't have a warrant. If they DO have a warrant, you have the right to read it first, etc. But if you open your door or allow them into your home you've 'consented to a search'. there's also 'line of sight' which is what got you nailed this time. If they can see it, you're fucked. But if they cant' see anything from the door, if they push their way in without a warrant, then anything they collect falls under unauthorized search and seizure, and can cost them their jobs.

learn yoru rights, know your rights, and make them work for their shit.

 

Mind telling us why 5 cops knocked on your door? You left out the most important part of the story. What kind of town has the money to send 5 cops to a house for "no reason"?

 

Well I didnt know why at first, but I now just figured out who called, they just called up the police and made up a bunch of lies they didnt know about.. I really didnt think that was possible but apparently it is.
