And was wondering if 4 150watt cfl's and 3 65watt cfl's would be good for 3 plants in a 3x5 foot colset? Also I am using miracle grow potting soil, peralite, sand, and rocks at the bottow for drainage along with 5 gal buckets. I got a temp gauge and a hygrometer. Just need a ph tester and a fan and then should be good to go. Anything else I should get before I begin?

O and was wondering this is more of an outdoor question but can you grow marijuana in wetlands? would this be like natural hydroponics?

Hey hey hey! Go check out Temps grow log. Air, light, Water = healthy plants = buds!

You can grow in wetlands but no it is not natural hydroponics.

4 150watt cfl's and 3 65watt cfl's << well theoretically the power consumption, wattage draw on these lamp will only be 135 watts,, Approximatlly 15,500 lumens get more lamps since they are not heat producers, they are not expensive and they grow plants well. 2000 lumens per sq. ft. you have 15sq you need twice as many as you have now for max growth.. I can help you all with some light shit,, you own your own once they grow.. Cause you shouldnt need help after that....

IMO,, 2000 lumens of proper spectrum lighting per Sq ft.

CLF have low light penetration to flower tops much less than a mh/hp.. I think they are great for beginners..

well i'm considering just starting them under cfl's thru veg while I save up to get an HID setup either 400 or 600w its just I live in an appartment which is a big problem because I don't want to skyrocket my electric bill. LED's seem like they could be a good option with extremely low heat emission and low power draw as well as long gevity. But are they going to be sufficient? Will they provide the right spectrum? as far as ventilation goes i have a couple of idea's its kinda a stealth grow kind of not. I was thinking 1 ocilateing fan to keep stalks strong a box fan to suck in fresh air its just the exhaust setup I'm kinda iffy on I might just cut a hole in the wall considering the bathroom in on the other side then I would be able to vent it out the fart fan but then I'm worried that since I'm not on the top floor it might stick up the people's above me bathrooms and blow my spot up...

I wouldn't grow in an apt. No privacy and security.

LEDs do have the power and correct spectrum for growing. The UFO is still a bit pricey ~ $500.

Instead of two huge plants consider 4-5 smaller untopped ones. The weight evens out. 18" tall start the 12/12.

Basic nutes = Peter's 20/20/20 + Epsom salts (for Mg).

For smell you can always run a carbon filter.

what about these LED's they seem kinda cheap and they dont really tell you what they put out and what their equivlent is.
and what about ozone generators it says they help with smell and keep the air clean but are they worth it? sorry for all the questions i just wanna get everything I need before I start

LEDs: Don't know what to tell you as I don't know anyone who has used them. In theory they should work fine and at ~$200 each they better :) For a small grow consider cfls.

Ozone is not really good for you but supposedly they do work. IMO activated carbon is the best.

yea my one thing that I'm kinda worries about cuttin holes and running ducting and hoses plus those canister fans and filters are freaking expensive

would a carbon filter really cut down on the smell that much enough to make it not really noticable?

A proper ventilation system with a good working carbon filter = no smell in the exhaust.

I hear you on the $$ part.

well I've decided on a vent system one fan pulling air into small enclosure thru the top on one side then exhaust on other. there will be fabric over the front to keep light in. (stealth). then there will be a fan on each side of the vented foldin closet door 1 intake 1 exhaust. local hydroponics store stonner said he could come over and check shit out to see if my ventilation would be enough for a 400 watt hps/mh hid lamp fingers crossed.

    wooo

I might have just convinced my room mate to let me use the walk in closet in our room! 5x5x8ft that would get rid of all my vent problems seein as how there a window and an air con just outside the door. hmmmmm 1000watt setup seems tempting now...

I knew someone who had a 1000w setup in our apartment complex. lets just say he doesn't live there anymore. A discrete cabinet grow would be feasible, but a big grow can easily get out of hand in an apartment.

LED's seem very promising, but I've heard the light intensity and penetration isn't there yet.
