this is moreso a song than anything. It's kinda hard to understand, no real rhyme scheme.

You've got about 1 shot, you've got to believe in yourself
trusting your insticts, listening to nobody else
Making something of the things you've overlooked
because a positive attitude brings it all to perspective
Step up, show off everything that ya know
life is something easily thrown out the window
I thought you were truthful, but really you're oblique
false and dishonest within the things you speak
Tell me lies, trying to get me to believe
trying to put my mind into a twisted weave

I knew a girl, who was everything a man could ask
but she never got through the negative things from her past
letting the small things bring her down to there level
never giving in to what they wanted, she was one to rebel

Make something of the world you were brought into
because if you don't, you'll never know what could've been
Make something of nothing, a dead flower to a rose
Change it up, live it up, show up all of your foes
Only you can change what can and will occur
Live in slow motion, rather than fast forward blur

I thought you were truthful, but really you're oblique
false and dishonest within the things you speak
Tell me those lies, get me to believe
trying to put my mind into a twisted weave

I feel like your poem's saying:

Be truthful to yourself, follow your own path,

    and

Confuse me, go on, I dare you.

It's kinda got a moralistic tone to it, i'm not sure. you're right, it is a little vague and confusing.
