.. no, not the scripting language, I mean Computer Graphic Images ;)

Found these recently on my computer, thought I'd dust 'em off. Most of these are old, 4 or 5 years old some of 'em!

"5000 Lumens" (the title sucks, I know)

guess so. i wouldn't be able to make those now. what program did you use?

i used to know guys that could do brilliant work in Photoshop, not just painting and colouring but full on rendering, and every time i've ever tried i've been completely rubbish at it. but then again, i know i don't have an artistic eye for things really. i can see something and thing, hey that is beautiful and very artistic; but i can't create something that looks that way.

For everything except Brushstroke I used Terragen, a landscape-rendering program. Brushstroke was done with Apophysis, which is a fractal-generator.

Wow, those are some really beautiful images. I had a play about with creating some cgi stuff with vue d'esprit, when I was about the same age, and I managed to create a box and a cube that sat next to each other! So needless to say, nothing at all like yours, I wish I had that creative vision.

Shiiiit Chris, those are immensifical. Best thing I ever managed with Maya software our school got was a snowman, a giant sea turtle and a gatling gun (can't remember how I linked em), those are beautiful though.

Ooh, Maya's wicked complicated, if ya want good results with a LOT less effort go with Terragen: www.planetside.co.uk/terragen I think the link is.
OK so most of them took a few hours to do but that kinda thing'd take *days* in Maya or POV-ray. I did do a few things in Bryce5 that were good, but I lost em :(

For example, this took me about 5 minutes, plus 3 to render:

As ya can see, you can get great results really quickly! It ain't perfect, I'd do some more antialiasing and get a better viewpoint, do something with the water, but it proves my point.

Woah, that is quick, I may need to give that a look when I have energy inside me rather than momentum :p

Hey, go for it.. I usedta do it when I needed a break from work and all that shit, it gave me something I could focus on to the exclusion of all else.
Plus, they look great as desktop backgrounds ;)
