    ----------
Official thread to discuss the Rainbow Retreat Project.
    ----------

    I recently created a website: http://www.rainbowretreatproject.com

We will be fundraising to create new Rainbow Retreat properties. If you like our concept, please spread the word and help by making a donation if possible. Fill out the Caretaker form and you may be selected by council to run a retreat of your own design.

If you know of any rainbow-owned or rainbow-friendly retreats that already exist, please fill out the retreat list form and let them know about us if possible

The website will be very active after Nationals in WY '08, where the word will be spread.

    Thanks alot,

I use the latest version and have no problem, hope I can reproduce it, maybe your embedded media player is failing. The only page I've seen fail on Firefox is the rainbow music page.

    -----

I will do my best to post something at info.

    Welcome Sister,

Lots of appreciation for signing up.

Maybe you could upload some pictures for our slide show, it's seems you got a bunch. (click on a picture to upload).

Maybe we will bump into each other at Nationals.

This was posted on a different thread (about Carmen), so I am quoting it here in the correct thread.

The tribe system is not a caste system. It is a system for people to benefit from contributing to the RRP, whether they inform us of an already establish retreat or inspire a donation. It is not our intention to segregate our community, it is only to create a system that will benefit everyone. Our retreats will and retreats on our list may offer extra benefits when people of our tribe visit their retreat. Retreats that participate with the RRP and the Tribal Community Plan are encouraging RRP's success. Just because there is a hierarchy does not mean someone is literally a Gold Elder and is thereby given power of rank, it is figurative... an individuals position in our hierarchy does not give them any special powers (over council or any activity); he or she will not receive anything beyond the community plan designed by any retreat they visit. These plans will vary from retreat to retreat and must be conducive to the Rainbow philosophy. Any one that visits our retreats will be treated as a Rainbow, a human, and an equal. This system is a reason for motivation, as we add more retreats, people will want to sign up and spread the word.

This site is continuously being updated. I will take this into consideration and see if there is anything I can do to make light of the situation.

On the other hand, Emerald Otter's response was, "you are a good idea machine.. thanks and praise". As an owner of a Rainbow property does not see a contradiction with the Rainbow philosophy.

Lastly, the RRP is not an official Rainbow Website, there is no official home site of the Rainbow Family, also the Gathering is a separate thing from the RRP (although RRP properties may host gathering activities). Don't be discouraged the Rainbow Family and the Many Tribes and the Rainbow Gathering are both inspiring and spiritually enlightening, as well as, a great time.

    Thanks for your concern,

    amendment
    -----------
I just came to understand that the way I've list primary or secondary access is a poor choice. Anything that [a retreat] offers should either not generally be offer to visitors (possibly during busy times) or should be intended as a welcoming gesture. It may be a bad choice to give anyone priority over another. This would simplify things... IE at Silver Warrior or above they would have access to guest bed room (or maybe even a trailer) if it was available... first come first serve otherwise the guest would have to wait or find other accommodations. The caretaker and community would have say to open accommodations for any individual.

We are in Montana getting ready to pick up a bus and supplies. We will be at nationals this year with our satellite vehicle..perhaps a small cafe...we just tried to get established with rental house and dead end jobs with no luck. Plus the way it's going we feel that it's time to get off the grid. A veggie/solar bus,a community or both...hope to see you in the woods....peace...Us

I've revised the Tribe Page. I hope it meets with everyones expectations.

Critical Feedback is an essential part of an ongoing project. A pessimistic approach is not necessary and inappropriate.

Keep in mind that this page is constantly being maintained and updated. If you have any concerns or questions about the inner workings of the RRP please feel free to ask.

Soon we will be adding a Q/A and comments page, so feel free to post here in the meantime or on our Q/A page when it is available.

I don't know quite about a "retreat". That has connotations for me of like a vacation place where you go to "get away" or some such. However, with that said, our vision is very similar, being a Rainbow tribe grown and manifested land and really living our vision of Welcome Home, consensus council, full on Rainbow Land.

In that somewhere though, we need to maintain the whole getting shit done vibe, getting ready for the winter and growing as much food as we can, building shit, which we are trying to do while maintaining our Rainbow ideals of freedom and personal empowerment and responsibility. We are certainly completely a gift-economy of our own and we welcome the Family that comes. I expect bus loads to show up any day from Nationals, and I am thankful!

If you come, come as though to a Gathering with what you have to give and an open heart and a willingness to plug in.

    Love and Light,
Joshua of the Reading Rainbow Library

lost&found, if you are the same one I met ya wandering into the gathering at the bottom of that big meadow full of yellow flowers near the back door, I was wandering in with a brother that handed off a big rainbow blanket to you for anyone who needed it.

me and a brother were discussing a similar idea at the gathering.

If you drew anywhere on the bottom half it hasn't been rubbed off yet...

I made it to Ft. Collins, managed to smuggle my didj onto greyhound... (new ownership, they still suck) was stuck in Rock Springs so I just bused it. Heading to Oregon for Didj Festivals, decided not to go home... to expensive.
