Make up an Official Looking Sign that sez No Admittance! Unauthorized Personnel Only! and put it up on the door of that Back Room at work or school or somewhere...joke 'em if they can't take a fnuk.

Babylon is the corruption within and around us. Its a part of human nature you have to learn to deal with. I guess all you can do is find some way of getting a release. Find some brothers or sisters that you can talk to about it.

finding brothers and sisters to talk to is acctually why I posted, I'm feeling all better now though, thank you all for the kind words, I just sort of untangled what needed to be and it's all good now.

you're right about it being within, it's just that at that moment I was having a hard time finding the light in myself.

Lovin' you all, you're beautiful :)

    I love babylon...
it was there to catch me when everyone ran off to smoke dope pretending to save the world. It was there when I was left to take care of the children on my own. It's there everyday and it's solid and I love it, and if it ever falls I will be happy that day too. Happiness is having control over one's own existance, happiness is the love of ones family.
Parts of Babylon will try to rip you off and turn you into a slave,
but then so will a good chunk of those claiming to be outside of it's walls.

The original Babylon was a beautiful city with walls more colorful and artistic than any you have probably ever seen. It was sheltered beauty and community and it was destroyed by conquest and war, nothing more, nothing less. I may have been proud to live and trade there.

makes a nice fantasy world huh... anyways, your not the only one the loves babylon. babylon is so 'babylon' because of the mindset that the human herd subscribes too... basically the 'screw yer neighbor' mindset...theres really no such thing as business ethics or responsible economics, its just word trickery to get out of doing your share of the labor at any cost. Anti-babylon is loving and sharing and forgiving and being upfront and truthfull about everything. My point is that most people (americans anyhow) are so in love with their corporate fueled fantasies of glitz and security that they dont even realize that babylon is ALL IN THEIR MINDS. If your talking about the hanging gardens of babylon or some ancient shit like that then pay me no mind.

Makes as good of a fantasy world as sitting around a campfire with name brand sandals on, near a walmart bought tent, sitting in a walmart camping chair, drinking store brand coffee and pretending that you're not a part of babylon.
    ;-)

That will always be the thing that struck me most odd about gatherings...so much commercial gear..not enough tree forts.

ya know, I was having a bad day, and I just really needed some love and support. I know damn well that whatever is going on you have control over, but I was feeling down, it happens.

So maybe I chose the wrong way to express it, or maybe I chose the wrong place. See I've been really lucky to meet really kind family in my expieriences, so I asumed (obviously stupidly) that I could come here and get some love and support, someone who'd say "it's gonna be fine just stay positive".

And I did get that from some good people here, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. And to the others, I'm sorry if I did something to offend you, but before you go posting insensitive shit in threads where people are saying they just need love, think about the feelings of the other person first please. I'm sure you meant no offense, and I appreaciate your input, but it was not kind, and not helpful.

Ever heard of CLEAN UP. you had to have heard of *clean up* it's that part of the gathering when everybody leaves and they dont wanna carry their crap back out of the woods so they just leave it along with their garbage, bliss rails and uncovered shitters. Those Rainbows must LOVE wal-mart cuz they leave lotsa crap from walmart. Crap that we, as clean up crew, would salvage and take to the next gathering. So please dont come to a gathering and send me bad vibes if you see me sitting in a walmart chair in front of my walmart tent with a walmart flashlight. And never mind all the store bought/dumpstered food that everybody eats at a gathering, not everybody has an organic farm capable of supporting ten thousand people in the woods. To each their own though. Enjoy babylon.

And Paix, dont take offense, this thread just seems to have gotten off on a tangent, nothing personal.

I just say what I see. Fantasy exists on both sides of the wall.

And if I offended anyone by saying you can be happy with or without babyon than I apologize. If ya need it to be gone or whatever, then good for ya, but good luck. It's like trying to take the color orange out of the rainbow.

Don't buy gear from Wal-Mart, just borrow it. Save your receipts, and take your tent, camp chair, &c back after the gathering. That's your gas money out.

Well, here is a hug from me, whatever it's worth. (huggles). People these days can be so cold. Reminds me of some great lyrics from a rather insipid song- "And well you know it is a fool that plays it cool, by making his world a little colder..." that rings so true these days. Everyone wants to be "Ice".

Here's another hug for you, whether you 'need' it or not. I'm in Oregon, meeting so many kind folk. I went to a workshop called Naka-Ima, which means living in the present moment and found a community of people who are devoted to being present and honest and loving with each other, it's so Rainbow, but most of them haven't heard of Rainbow, and each of them have connections to another 'tribe' of their own outside Nak-Ima, like rainbow or some Ashram or something that carries on the same kind of believe in love and unity and positive human evolution. So the love is growing exponentially. Our 'tribe' (of which Rainbow is but a SMALL clan) is growing. I was even at a Green Party fundraiser last night listening to their presidential candidate speak, and he talked about how dispite the fact that the media thinks Nadar was a spoiler in the last election, the number of states with Greens on the ballot has risen from 25 to 44 since the last election, and the number of elected Greens has quadrupled! he credits it to the fact that his party is honest. So whatever you believe about democracy in this country, at least there are some people involved who are consious. Our movement is growing on all fronts.

    anyway, loving you all.

Chris, that sounds so beautiful, I'm happy for you :)

I have a friend from the forums that's in oregon, I should give you his email, he and a bunch of kids are starting an organic farm/commune out there, sounds pretty beautiful. How is your wife, and everything else? I talked to Michelle they're headin to florida soon, and all that, just sorting out some family stuff.

I'm still going to school, and just got an amazing job teaching pre-school, which is really amazing. I'm hoping (as always) to leave here in late january and head to florida and then hit the road, but we'll see, it hasn't worked yet, so here's hoping. Life is pretty damn good right now though, I love my job so so much, and school is bearable, so it's all good!

much love to you guys, keep me updated, and stay safe, loving you guys!

I spent August in Oregon learning to build a cob house. http://photobucket.com/albums/v383/cobalow/

I had a wonderful time with some of the most interesting people I have ever met. I fell in love with a young man who had a g-friend....but not selfish love. (I just don't think I could be friends in person with him because we would be bound to slip up, we had too much chemistry,)

    :)
