well, a few days ago i decided to buy an effects peddle at my guitar center. what i bought was a digitech RP350. it has 70 built in tones, some of them based off of what artists used (such as led zeppelin, hendrix, metallica, ect.)
you can also use the wah wah peddle with each tone, which is really nice. it has a drum machine with like 9 or 10 different beats and you can change the speed of the beat. i find this is good for jamming. you can also plug it into your computer via USB cable but i dont have a cable that works for it [IMG]

Here's a pic of the guitar that i use. its an Epiphone SG, dark red in color, so its kind of angus youngish

and here's a picture of my bass guitar, a fender precision. you can see my shoes in the backround =D

and last but not least, the amp that i use. i like it, small and can be portable, yet packs a huge punch.

anyway, thought i'd share my lasted investment in my guitar hobby. does anyone else use the same type of peddle? it seems common since i know at least 3 other people who have the same kind.

its so much fun to just rock out on a guitar with an effect pedal like that and some headphones. you can make so many cool and different sounds.

Its a les paul copy, its made by a company called Agile and is spec'd out amazingly for the price I got it for. But I was too cheap to drop $1000 on a guitar at the time I got it, so I got one built just as nicely, with the same quality parts and materials for about half the price.

Thanks, yeah I really like my crate amp, its pretty versatile, has a ton of digital effects built into it and the price was right.

I agree, I've got friends who play on it and say that they like it better than their Les Paul's but even if thats true someday I'd like the real deal but for now this one is blowing away my original expectations lol.

Lol, well hell, if it works just as good/if not better than a Les Paul then why get one!
They are pretty expensive.. but would be a good investment when ya had the money to spend on a guitar.

my cousin has a les paul copy as well, which he bought for real cheap. then he replaced the pickups with some really good ones, so ended up spending half of what a real les paul would cost and having the same value

my SG's pickups are pretty good, but surely not as good as the real gibson SG's. i plan on replacing those pickups sometime in the future

For sure they are a great investment, A good friend of my dad had a 1950 something les paul that he traded in and got pretty much a room full of new instruments for it. He would never tell us exactly what he got for it but judging by the price of the new stuff he got I would say it was in the range of $8,000-$10,000 or so.

Holy shit, man! That's amazing. How much did he pay for it in the first place? I'm sure the price went up a lot anyway over the years.

He got it as a gift from his dad as a kid, but I would guess it was only a couple hundred dollars back then, but I could be off.
