Iraq even attacked Kuwait. And AMERICA FUCKED IT UP! If America,Bush and company did not get involved Iran and Iraq would be nothing by now.And Iraq would have crushed Kuwait. This is just a comment not a thread, carry on.....

It would have been so great to have Iraq and Iran destroy EACH OTHER.

Ashame the younger Bush apologists weren't around back then. To them, the sordid U.S. involvement over there with Rummy and others seems like just a page from a history book, almost not real.

Anyone that tries to defend Bush is either deluded or very very rich. And it would be ideal if no country was at war,but some ARABIC countries have always fought with each other.

My point is there is so much hatred between countries like Iraq against Iran against Kuwait etc.Just let them fight among themselves.I enjoyed when Kuwait was bombed by Iraq in the 1990s.It was great seeing Iran and Iraq at war.The US should stay out.

I dont think it's great seeing countries at war, and I dont find enjoyment in bombings and people dying, but yes, the United States should stay out.

    Sorry, couldn't resist :)

I don't mean that in a mean way, but there's a lot of history involved, and I hardly know where to even start answering what was said.

When I came to this site I still had some prejudices and some bad information, and that led me to say cold things like that (actually much worse). But remember, "even" in the middle east, only a very tiny percentage of people tend to actually involve themselves in political violence. In Afghanistan, for instance, "terrorist" forces (Taliban) may number ten thousand or twenty thousand, who knows, but something in that range. But we're speaking of a nation of tens of millions of people.

There was nothing good about the Iran-Iraq war. It killed something like a million people, and made Saddam a folk hero to American conservatives, because he "kicked Iranian ass" and they loved him for it at the time.

There's nothing inherently dangerous or violent about the Middle East, Southwest Asia, or Islamic nations. My son is over there right now, not in the military, just vacationing for pleasure and education, after years of carefully saving money. He'll be gone for a few months, but I hope to persuade him to write something on this site about his travels.

Well said. "They" don't hate each other, its not like its a whole country were everybody thinks the same.
