Umm could someone please explain to me why everyone loves this movie? I watched it last night expecting something atleast worth watching and was fully disappointed.
It's not the best movie out there, but it's pretty damn decent. The whole main bad guy as a living metaphor to the angel of death and all of that shit is pretty trite. The movie is just a fun watch though. Very well stylized and entertaining.
i hated it but afterward i read it was supposed to be a commentary on how the whole american cowboy image was dying and stuff, and its not so bad if you think of it as social commentary rather than an actual story its still not really good though, imho. too theoretical... you can make a great point and still have a good story goin on, and not randomly kill off important people without even featuring their death scene
I actually gave it a 10/10. It's not in my TOP10 or anything but it's a near perfect film. For the record, I also loved Boondock Saints.
Ya, there is a thread in the Movies section where I express some of my views on it. It's a good movie IMO, but I can understand why others would not like it. Check out this thread if you want to see why I liked the movie so much, it might help you at least appreciate it. And also, read the book. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=286428
I enjoyed it because it was different. Not the same sequel or rehashed piece of garbage that most films coming out of Hollywood are these days.
