My answer is that what makes something essentially true is that it exists. Since both sentences exist, they are both automatically true, regardless of what they say. So there is no paradox: Both sentences are true. Just because something is true doesn't necessarily mean that it has to make any sense or carry any meaning outside of its own existence. The sentences are merely objects; they carry no deeper meaning than one's experience of them.
