So i completley screwed up my freshman year and may have to repeat the 9th grade or go 2 summer school according to my mom but she exagerates all the fucking time and never tells me the truth because she doesnt know the truth lol

But anyway my question iz Do you think i could still be accepted into college even though all my 9th grade grades are terrible like all D's and E's?

It took a long time but im finally matureing and realizing what i want in life and i know i want to go to college if i can but idk my mom tells me all the time i should just drop out but i dont want to i wanna make something out of myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much! Peace&Love

well if you end up retaking 9th grade in summer school all your old grades should be erased by whatever new marks you get as long as they are better than the original marks. And I know people who did terrible in school and still got into college. They usually went to a 2yr community college and then transfered, or just were content with the 2yr degree.

Also if your grades arent that great alot of colleges look at SAT/ACT scores pretty heavily as wel as extracurricular activities such as clubs and sports you may be involved in. They want to know they will have active students rather than just book worms who lock themselves into their dorms all day.

Get your grades up your next few years, and study hard for your act, and if you take the sat, study hard for that as well.

Junior year is probably going to be my hardest year. It is the most important year as well.

People who drop out still go to college. I will be doing a 2 year Associates Degree then transferring into a 4 year school to finish with a Bachelors Degree in music.

Hey im in more shit then you body.

Before explaining my lil story il explain how it works here

Grade 1 to 6 is called primary school. After that we go secondary school.
Secondary school is 5 years. Then its out to cégep (pre-university).

So, Im in sec 4 (10th grade) and my grades are prety fucking ...bad. Wich is prety sad becuz cégep mostly look at that year to see if your qualify. Its to late to do anything, I dont know anyway out of this shit....but geting into cégep will be a pain in the ass.

All that becuz im a lazy bummer :p

    Anyway..sorry to hijack your thread.

yes you can still get into college. like other posters said, grades arent the only thing colleges look at. in fact, most colleges will pay more attention to the SAT or ACT scores, because they may think "this guy doesnt try hard but he has lots of potential" so sometimes they take people in like that because they figure they will mature and buckle down and try.

I'm so glad that you're mature enough to care about getting into college when you're in 9th grade, because I know I was never this concerned.
But anyway, you should be fine.. try to take summer school if you can, and like skierdood said the bad grades will be erased and shit. Just do good the rest of the time you're in high school and you should be golden.

    Good luck!

yes, Universities look at SAT/ACT scores, but if you have a 2.0 or something it's not going to make a difference if the average admitted gpa is a 3.5...
