This morning I took my daily walk in one of our local Old Growth forests. I sat down on a huge fallen moss coverd douglas fir. I light my spliff, and take a few puffs. I suddenly have a strange feeling, and I look behiend me to see a huge ass Roosevelt elk not even 20 feet from me. I have no Idea where she came from. She was looking really friendly, so I just continued to sit on the fallen tree, smoking my spliff. She just stood there looking at me, and I at her for at least 4 minutes.. After that she sortive noded her head, and walked off slowly.. I got the best vibes from that experience, I cant even describe the love, and peaceful feelings that I felt...Truely amazing!!
Pfft, it was pretty rude that you didn't offer the elk a hit off your spliff... Sounds great, when things like that happens it's a good feeling all around...
yeah elk are fucking awsome. When you interact with animals like that you begin to understand why the native people worshipped them.
surpisingly, the best experiences i've had with wild animals is while hunting. and i SWEAR TO GOD, they know when you're not out for them. they're amazingly assute. god, i love animals. they're so freaking cool. BADASS moment for you, man. i've actually pet a cow elk on the nose, while it was living, btw. just a moment between two animals of the wild. beauty.
damn... poor elk just wanted a hit, and you wouldn't give it to her... she had to go look elsewhere, you greedy fuck!

Hey mamaK, thats amazing that you acually pet a cow elk on the nose, thats beautiful indeed.. I suppose Its these enteractions with nature that remind us that all living creatures are connected on some deeper level than just a food chain..
That is awesome. I got to pet a caribou in Alaska out in the middle of nowhere, which was cool. I was just sitting, and it came up to me.
