depends on tolerance. Certainly if its your first opiate experience it is too much. Im assuming it is because if it wasnt you would already know your dosages. If your a first timer with codeine, 100-200mg should have you feeling great. More around the 150mg range.
thanks, i actually just took a 120 mg dose and it is relaxing, but not very euphoric. so i was considering 270 to feel like the full euphoric experience
The maximum dose for someone with no opiate tolerance is 300 mg, so not technically. Your mind will probably be doing flips of euphoria, though. I don't have very much experience with opiates, so I can't really speak to this question in that regard; I know that some people will get ichy and nauseous on that amount of codeine, however. What you really need to be concerned about is the amount of acetaminophen (aka APAP) you are consuming. You DEFINITELY do not want to take more than 4000 mg in 24 hours, but even this much is a huge toll on your liver. Definitely do not take this much APAP if you have liver issues or if you drink alcohol (or kava?) on a regular basis. If you are taking codeine in pills, it almost certainly contains APAP. If it's in liquid form, it might not--I don't remember if there are codeine cough syrups or not. It's recommended to do a cold water extraction (CWE) on the pills you plan on taking (careful, make sure you don't do an extraction on 20 pills and then drink the resulting liquid without thinking, cause OD'ing on opiates ain't fun). You should read the Codeine FAQ on Erowid: http://www.erowid.org/pharms/codeine/codeine_faq.shtml If you're a recreational drug user, I'm assuming you know the wonders of Erowid--but if you don't, indulge in the wonders of knowledge!
