I have had my locks in for about 9 months now, and i've began to develop a problem with build up and itchies about a month and a half ago. I wash my hair either every other day or sometimes 3 times a week, however i still have a lot of almost oily build up on my scalp, that begins to itch horribly. From itching so much i have caused my scalp to become irritated, and at times it causes some scabs and skin to rub off, making some spots look like burns. Now this does not happen ALL the time, and i don't mean to gross you guys out, but it's concerning me. I do not have lice as i've had my sister, my mom, and my sig other check. I've tried tea tree oil for the itchies and it works, however the build up seems to just stay there even after i wash VERY thoroughly. Any help is SERIOUSLY appreciated as i love my locks and want 'em to be healthy/happy.

    I-and-I will always come through

What are you washing with normally?
Possible the residue from your shampoo building up...
or maybe your shampoo just doesn't cut the oil.

Theres a deep cleanse recipe in this forum,
maybe someone can bump/link it for you?
Id do that and soak and scrub around your roots.

When I wash I always rinse with my head upside down and really cold water.
Try not to scratch with your finger nails.

I'm sure someone else here can be more hep then I.

    :D

the best thing in the world for that is the deep cleanse
my scalp came off in chunks till it bled till i started the deep clense (my scalp was fucked cause in the hospitol they assumed dandruf was lice (from across the room) and turtured me with so many lice treatments ..leaving it on 10 times as long ads called for anbd doing it over andf over to]ill my scalp was fried and bloody)

nothing completeluyy helped my scalp although it gave somer relief a few days ..till i found the deep clense which wirked wonders

    recipe
    gallain of warm water
3/4 cup baking soda (not powder)
2 rablespoons lemon juice and sea salt
10 or so drops tea trea oil

(any ingredients can be adjusted to suite you)

i just dump the whole gallon over my head and let it sit for 15 min or so

on ocasion i squirt in a lil bronners if i think i need the soapiness and whgen i do i do scrub a lil but if i dont i don6t biother i just let it sit in the dreads awhile then rince

its amazing how good itrs made my scalp feel

ACV rinse works wonders with scalp build-up and itchiness.

thank you all so much for your help, the deep cleanse method did work wonders, it kinda burned so next time i think i'll use less juice and salt. I really appreciate the help, i'll try and get some pics up, my locks have really come a long way... especially considering my buddy went through about 22 plastic combs putting them in.... yes i said it, we used PLASTIC combs, and these lovelies came out GREAT... one love everybody

I'll be sure not to enter a hospital if I'm in Portland, thanks SoaringEagle.
    That truly is outrageous.
