Ive thought of this since I was a kid..

Mars used to have an atmosphere like earth long ago.. Advanced Humans used to live on Mars,as well as animals and tones of lush plant life..Then the armosphere of mars started heating up rapidly. Then all life started to die out, including the advanced humans. Eventually all life was gone, and the only thing left was the few humans, with there noas ark type spacecraft with all sorts of wildlife eggs in petrie dishes..etc..
When they landed on earth, they proceeded to seed the earth with animals.
The animals thrived here on earth and evolved ever so. But as the humans that were increasing and spreading on earth were fighting constently, and eventually destroyed themselfs back to a "stone age"...and the rest goes from there....

Cool idea, but why not colonize Earth in the first place
You could go with the "Starcraft" idea, that they sent all the convicts away to Earth like a giant planetary prison.

 

Starcraft is a classic game indeed...The hours ive put into that game...lol

i wanna see a movie ABOUT the seeding of earth by mars, not the mission to mars "hey lookie! here's a film clip to show you what happened."

i wanna watch a sims-like movie about the process. a miniseries or something.

 

oh yeah, and my husband is a firm believer in it's destined to happen since i said it out loud (or typed it), furthering evidence that my father runs the shadow government and they're keeping an eye on me.
