Do you have more female friends or male friends?

Just thought I'd take a little survey of what every gay guys mix of friends were, as I find there can be a lot of difference in this matter from one gay guy to the next, with variations by which flavour of gay you are, how much you bother with straight people and age related issues.


My experience:

In high school, I was a bit too hyper and driven by hormones to really give up the time for many female friends, guys at that age seemed to have more energy, I only really had one close female friend in high school and that was more to do with our mums being friends

20s was a complete turn around, my hormones had settled down a bit and valued hanging around having a good old yarn over coffee or a stiff drink a bit more, and the guy I was with 22-25 only really had female friends. I wasnt huge on the scene but did do the nightclub thing, found myself for the most part starting off nights with female friends even though the goal was to end the night with a new male friend

From late 20s onwards it sort of switched around again, most of the girls get in baby making mode by then, pair off with their guy and dont have that much time for their friends anymore, with your straight friends you're more likely to be able to get the hubby out of the house or see the hubby down at the local. My Gay and Straight circles tended to seperate more, nowadays my friends are mostly gay guys, but I do like the odd Sat or Sun afternoon down the pub with my straight married male friends, when I'm not in a relationship that is. But i am more a macho type that people dont know I'm gay unless I tell them, so its probably a bit easier to interact with straight guys in that way.

 

I have mostly male friends now. I think it was more balanced when I was younger, but then chicks started hitting puberty and turned into fucking nightmares for about 10 years.

 

It's pretty equal.

For the most part I only hang out with straight people. I have three best males friends and about two best female friends. From there it's an equal mix of people. I would say that I tend to become friends with females much easier than males but overall, it's a complete mixture.

 

I've had mostly male friends since going to uni at 18... Before that, in college, I had lots more friends of both sexes, and I've missed that ever since.

 

for me it's ALWAYS been more chick friends. I just feel more at ease and relate better for some reason. Although I do still have a need for guy friends...but I can only stand hanging out with certain ones for an extended period of time. In the future, i hope to make more gay friends and keep my gal friends as well.

I have a lot more female friends than male friends. I'm not very feminine but all straight guys at my school seem to want to talk about are sports. I have one gay best friend, and one straight guy best friend, the rest are all chicks. I'm actually much more comfortable talking about sex and guys with girls rather than other guys.

At the mo, I'm mostly friends with girls, but not because I want to be. In the past, I've always hung out way more with guys, but I've always also had a lot of female friends too. So I guess it's pretty even on this side.
