Imagine A Psychedelic Island Paradise

Imagine living on a island paradise somewhere in international waters whose primary botany would be edible fruits for the body and psychedelic fruits for the mind. But everything natural grows there: from cannabis, to psilocybin mushrooms, to DMT plants, to Mescaline cacti, LSA flowers, ect. In fact there is so much cannabis that cannabis seeds are used as a common (but not enforced) currency. Even though any society here would be communal none-the-less, the seeds and plants themselves can be made into all the tools we need from food, clothing, shelter, fuel, ect. on this free to all island. And the psychedelic plants and fungi will be in abundance as well. The island also has apples, oranges, grapes, strawberries, bananas, ect. for food. The entire island isn't too big and too small, about no more than 600 square kilometers (the size of San Francisco). But it will be all nature.

As long as we keep it that way I would be good with it, I would probably die of being so happy that my soul just flies off one night and never comes back but what a way to go. Lets all get rich and buy an Island and plant the seeds necessary for such a paradise to exist.

Yeah man, I'm sure if the millions of counterculturists teamed up, resources and all, we would easily be able to make such a paradise exist. Imagine this as a psychedelic island-community where everything people can ever need grows....all the wonderful psychadelic plants and edible fruit. There maybe animals for meat and such on the island, but we don't have to take conscious life since fruit will be in abundance as well.

Oh yeah fo sho. While I don't smoke that much opium or do much natural inca coke, it wouldn't hurt to have these available.

 

It would be like when Native Americans took over Alcatraz but in a tropical area/beach and it would be untouched by government and power struggles..

Yeah man, how to do it though? Gotta buy all the seeds and spores and plant them all over some beautiful island.

And we really don't need much more than 10 square kilometers. As long as the populations stays in the hundred then it should be ok. As long as there is a lot of diverse floral and fauna.....nature will do the rest.

 

I would organize people who want to contribute and set up a system where you can rotate folks out because it is only right that all people into the idea can visit.

And it would take many folks to make this happen with no greed at all involved. We could even fund transit to and from if we made it a communal organization, not just one human, one idea, but a forum of idea.. put into one goal, this goal.

 

Yeah, the bottom line being that there should be no rulers or leaders and no enforced hierarchy that could lead to inequality.

 

Sounds fun until some pirates/military show up and claim your virgin ass and the entire island.

yeah this is my idea of heaven. we could sell products to anywhere its legal, and otherwise just soak up the sun. I think its everyone's dream, why not try to do it. FOR REAL THOUGH. pirates arent a problem, just invite some ex marines to join in on the fun. nothing wrong with guns if they are in the right hands.

Yah, I would love to know the first step of making this a reality. Buy some island maybe, except most islands are claimed by national governments and islands are pretty expensive anyways.

maaaan i think you've hit the bulls eye with that idea...imagine how wonderful that island would be...omg i almost have apicture of it in my mind and lots of really happy people jumping around...beautiful reality vision...maybe in 6500 A.D. we will be able to buy our own planetys (like people buy their own islands nowadays), and design what we want on them to live, grow etc.. then will can all chip in and buy a psychedelic planet

 

Ive been to Croatia 3 summers and saw 1 cop total in the beach town I stayed in, no police station and no hassles by the locals. The bar ower shut the doors and turned on the blacklight while we smoged the place out. Yes, its illigal, no, noone cares.

btw access to a hospital would be a bonus.

 

It sucks that every country in the world has claimed almost all the earth (except international waters and Antarctica). There would still be unclaimed land 200 years ago. Or another option would be to go to a country with a huge forest and somehow cultivate the psychedelics like that.....Brazil and Mexico come to mind. I bet we can make the case that we're a new aboriginal tribe and get protection......after all many more tribes get protection of their ayawasca, shrooms, and what not.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't work. It would be absolutely wonderful if it could work, but there's no way.

Anarchic society, in real life, is never fun for everyone. In fact, it's usually an utter nightmare for many of the people within such a community.

Someone mentioned cocaine being available. Another mentioned an armed militia. Has the subject of medical needs been considered (including medications that could not be synthesized on the island)?

Imagine a severely coked-up Viet Nam vet with an M-16 and a machete having a bad night in a community devoid of hospitals.

Utopian?

Maybe if you're really, really into shock horror films.

Sorry to be so cynical - like I said, as a fantasy, it's fun to imagine such an impossible paradise.
