During school, we did Roald Dahl short stories with the twists at the end, like Lamb to the Slaughter (my faviouite short story). Can anyone recommened some other Short Stories that are similiar to these (not nessassarily Dahl's though)
I liked "The Most Dangerous Game" by Connell. It only sorta has a twist to it, but I liked it just the same. Maybe you could check out some of Jack London's stuff, I have a book of collected short stories, and man, that guy was a genius writer. But again, they aren't really twisty. I don't really read many short stories, and can't remember too well the ones we read in high school.
There's a story I like by Patricia Cornwell, a New Zealand author, and I can't remember what it's called. It's about this boy who becomes totally obsessed (to the point of stalking) with this girl, and the ending is brilliant. We read Lamb to the Slaughter for English. That's the one with the wife who murders her husband and then the police eat the murder weapon, right. He also wrote a short story called Genesis which is my favourite.
