Hes a fucking pussy. First hes supposed to be the most powerful Jedi and the chosen one, then he turns to the darkside and hes supposed to be the most powerful Sith lord in the universe. Yet through all 6 Episodes, this fucker was an apprentice his entire life. Now Obi Wan, that fucker was bad ass.
The completion of the story by way of a prequel, to me portrayed a theme that there's some Good in all Bad guys. If the first 3 chapters were seen first, would ones view and opinion of the character be different? Yes, Obi Wan was indeed the conscience of 'the apprentice'. The guardian throughout the times of darkness before enlightenment, a period of which all things have to endure prior to .. salvation. However... To me: I feel it shows the internal battle within a complicated mind. The frustration of being 'All knowing' and 'Powerful', but emotionally guilt ridden and unable to control such feelings with comfortable ease thoughout life is a terrible burden to endure. They say the difference between Genius and Lunacy is a thin line, I think one can equate such with the inner turmoil of an endless torment. It's easier to be Black/White, Left/Right, Good/Bad - one side of a line that one can categorise into a faction. It can be opposed, attacked, argued against / Supported, agreed with and joined. When the individual themselves cannot deal with the complexity of their own desire to unify because they know what, is right but cannot express it though communication necessary. Because of the lack of comprehension and empathy of others whom one is trying so hard to help/save/ educate - then it is anger and heartbreak that show themselves. – I think one may have to be there to appreciate that- < Peace+Love~Save the Planet> + <" May the Force be with you ">
I've always wondered something: did Vader die because he killed his master? And killing your master is against the rules of being a Jedi? Or had Luke already fatally wounded him, and he just succumbed to it after killing his master?
Crap, I remember that too, haha. I've watched the movies so many times...just not recently. Brain burp...sorry But...Luke was zapped WAY more times than Vader, yet he lived. Or was it the final killing blow that was stronger (and meant for Luke) that killed him?
Vader was on life support already, the zapped prolly stopped all his pacemaker and breathing apparatus.
Here's a whole page about Darth Vader's suit and why he died at the end: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Vader%27s_suit I never used to understand that either. Obviously Luke is the main man. The whole galaxy is offered to Luke, and he would rather die than take it. I don't know if he was the best Jedi around, probably not, but in the end it was up to him to battle Vader.
