I recently ran across a vendor who carries Methylone, but they said that they stock (S) Methylone which is supposed to have much more favorable effects than the Racemic. I'm assuming there are two different types of Methylone? This is news to me. I thought that Methylone was Methylone. I didn't know there was two different types. Can someone elaborate on the differences between the two in a chemical respect as well as in a trip report experince(s)? Are the dosages different? If Superpimp is out there, please reply. I know that you have a lot of experience with this particular RC.
i don't know the differences in effects are but as for the chemistry side of it i may be able to help. as methylone is an amphetamine there are two different possible configurations at the alpha position (being the carbon directly attached to the nitrogen). if you picture this position with the main part of the molecule facing away from you and the amine facing up, the methyl group attached to the alpha carbon can then be attached either at the left or the right giving two different possible types. in some chemicals this can make a difference in activity. if my memory serves me correctly that is what happened with thalidomide. one version was great for morning sickness and the other caused birth defects hence thalidomide babies. this might help http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chirality_(chemistry)
I have wondered the same about another compound. Would be nice to have a list of the more favorable isomer of each compound in P&Tihkal.
i thought he did...i remeber at least a few of the pages would say something along the lines of ...consumed 30mg of the s isomer and found it not as ---- as the r... Are you sure he makes no mention of this...check some of the DOx compounds...
Yes but some are different. I think I read that 5-meo-amt is better as the S. But have never had the chance to try that one.
