Hi, in to my 4th week of floral growth, having some large heads appear and its all very exciting.
Anywho, at the bottom of the plant and some spindly little branches and leaves which seem to habitate their own little world and I can't see that they have any benefit to the plant itself. If I was to cut these off, would that benefit the plant by redirecting grown or something?

    cheers.

PICS... would help. I dont recommend cutting fan leafs or any growth thats not sickly.. Meaning if its green let it be.. If they are yellow and vital limbs and leaves, get light to them, or rotate them to get light..
Each healthy leaf helps plants produce energy for proper growth.

They're too small to be fan leaves though they are numerous number, but far below the bottom fan leaves. They're light green when every other leaf is the correct rich green. The plants are very healthy though so no biggy I guess.

Are you in flowering stage? Your lower leafs will begin to yellow as more energy is going to the buds. If you have bushy plants you can pull them apart and tie branches to something to allow some light to penetrate.. If you know what your doing you can trim some leafs that are a nuisance.. That will allow other area to get light. But you can get the same results with out trimming if you just move them around, move your lights for a day or two to penetrate from the sides.. Add better reflective material to bounce light waves.
If your flowering your getting paranoid by change in color, growth and all the other shit that goes on, Its what every grower goes through at these times.. ..

  5. You can trim those leaves, without pics it's hard to determine what is okay to cut and what is not, but it's called pruning and it's normal to do during flowering if you didn't know. There are a lot of ways to do it but pruning the tallest branches ensures that the lower branches grow upwards, forming a larger surface area for the light to cover, not sure if your plants are beyond this point, but I highly recommend pruning in this fashion.

    Good luck!

the only time i remove any foliage is usually the bottom 2 branching nodes and any leaves that are more than 50% sick/dead.

(i remove the very bottom branches to focus on upper growth)
