Hi Everyone! I'm new to this site and live near Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey.. does anyone know of any festivals or peace protests or get togethers happening in the area this summer? I'm from Ny (husband is a brit) and would love to meet other like minded people in the neighborhood.. Thanks!
Surrey.. well, tomorrow there's Strawberry fair up in Cambridge. Later on (August 25thish) there's Shambala festival in Northampton.. lotsa little festies going on. Check out the parties and protests forum up above^^
I'm not too far from Kingston, but have never been there. I get emailed dates of different peace protests and all sorts, but hotmail doesn't like work computers so can't get the name - but will try! Oh and welcome!
Ooh, 21st June there's the Anti-BNP protest in London.. was talking to the socialist party guys about it today. Looks good, who's gonna come?
You may well be the only hippie in Kingston, in fact the whole of Surrey ... Which part of Long Island are you from? I once stayed with family friends in Port Washington.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone and all the info! I know where Port Washington is, it's on the north shore, I'm from the south shore in Nassau County. Small world! So far I've only met a few Americans in 1.5 yrs but as long as someone's cool I am not fussed about where they're from! Anyway thanks again everyone
