The point of power is always in the present moment. I AM started.
My Golden Age is getting off to a bit of a rocky start, but it is rolling. The bad guys own the media. The media tell us what 'we think' and what we 'need to know' (ha). If people are not out on the streets doing the peaceful, noble and helpful things to bring about peace, none of the other sheep are going to notice that there is another way to live. That we can wage peace. That we can fight injustice.

So now it comes down again to making headlines. Ok, shit, we need to get seen, we need to get arrested, we need to protest nude (god help us), we need to do anything that gets us noticed....(the media will not be able to resist ridiculing us!)

We need to tie ourselves to trees, to lie down in front of tractors, to protest outside of meetings where decisions are being made that affect all of our lives. We need to wear slogan t-shirts; we need to have posters and bumper stickers; we need to communicate in whatever ways we are individually good at, we need to look different, we need to speak from the heart and live from the heart. To be fearless, loving, adventurous, and free. These things we can model for the rest of society. We need to inspire people and educate them. I am trying my best every day. Each little ripple spreading out will eventually make a bit of a splash upon the shore.

we also need to get our minds and bodies in shape for the war for peace..it's gonna take stamina.. I know about being an OLD hippie and the bones don't like to bend that way no more.. I know I'm not in the best shape as I could/should be in but I try to stay atcive.. but just staying active is not gonna cut it.. we need strenght in our bodies to support what our brains are telling them to do.. we need sharp and clear thinking and leaders to organize..we need mass exposure.. we nneed pamplets and flyers posted next to all the garage sale signs so people will see them.. in laundry rooms in school faculty rooms.. in collage lunch rooms.. everywhere.. we can organize mass sit-ins at the same time all over the nation.. we can have rock stations play a particular song(s) at a certain time as we all sit in.. I have more ideas.. I have staged protests in the 60's and free concerts in the panhandle park SF and worked in getting city councilman elected.. was a long time ago but I still have the knowledge inside me..

Yeah Shameless...you are so right! That stuff is exactly what we need.
And the War For Peace needs a concert. We need a new Woodstock. Maybe some of us know some artists out there who would contribute or organise such a thing? We need a focus for all the posters etc. Organisation is needed. Local groups are a start. Protest actions need to be discussed and planned. If only us oldies could get the ball rolling, I know all the young ones here would come out by the hundreds. They are just waiting for it.
I love you Shameless...big hugs to you my sister. Yes, we need to get ourselves fitter and healthier, our minds sharper and clearer. But we can start by doing the mental work and the planning and the young ones can carry the banners. We are getting to the age where we want to make sure we have done all that we can do. If we're gonna go down, let's go down in a blaze of glory!
