Yeah man Lake Delton is fucked up. I remember seeing it one time when I went up to the Dell's. The Rock River is high as fuck which means I can't smoke on my friend's boat this weekend, fuck.

Damn, I caught that on the news yesterday. shit's fucked up. surprisingly, for living like an hour from the gulf of mexico, and living in a city riddled with bayous, hence it being called the bayou city, we dont flood often, but when we do its BAD. whatever you do save the weed and fire!!! haha last time if flooded was back in 04 when that bitch alison rolled through.

most people living in a flood plain don't prepare for such things. you can build a damn near flood proof house, just like you can build a damn near tornado proof one. it just takes creativity, money, and a waiver for the insurance company.

it sucks though, if only the weather would mellow out, but no, not for many years. better off moving.

without regard to the dam! a flood plain is any area that is prone to flooding, and precautions should be taken. the dam doesn't change the flood, it only made it worse. the dam is not a protection device, it doesn't change the geography of the area.

mother's love is right. the only thing a dam is supposed to do is usually make lakes out of rivers, or produce electricity, such as the hoover dam.

you may be thinking of a levee, which is meant to protect against flooding.

dams are also used to control rivers and streams
