https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAG-kX_IlUw It really doesn't get any better than that when it comes to instrumental guitar music. If he'd had a drummer like Mitch Mitchell, I can't imagine what they would've sounded like.
If you liked that check out the 9+ minute version of Texas Flood, which is also on youtube. One of my favorite songs of all time.
yes Stevie Ray is my god. I was in bed late sometime over the weekend and happened to be flipping the channels around and I found a collection of his performances on my local broadcasting channel. I got to see one of his performances from austin city limits, but then they have to try to make you a member of the channel and that lasts like 10 or 15 minutes so I just fell asleep. But I rarely get to see his performances on tv or video that it was so amazing. I was stoned too, and that made it feel even greater. I'm going to check out your video now. THanks
Wow Foc, great recommendation. Glad you guys enjoyed it. He plays with such undeniable passion. Eric Clapton literally pulled over to the side of the road the first time he heard SRV on the radio, and I don't blame him!
Anything LIVE of SRV is ass-kicking !! no studio time limits, so he plays longer, alot longer. Also Anything Before 1985 (Soul To Soul album) will be really diffrent since there isn't any keyboard playing, Just the trio. Check Out (video or audio) of his Tokyo, Japan performance. He plays tin pan alley then into Dirty Pool ,making you feel like you've been there (especially listening to it with headphones). SRV plays so gentle, then ripping it apart, then some Jazz, Blues, playing the hell out of the guitar with much feeling (helps me to relieve anger in me sometimes listening).cheers2::cheers2::hat:
stevie ray vaughan fans should check out the stevie ray vaughan website. for me, i also think stevie was much better than hendrix. hendrix was just so wild with it. kinda "sloppy". hendrix was also a good song writer. but ya gotta admit, hendrix was way before his time! and he was still really really good. i favor SRV though.
I've been on a really big SRV kick lately.. listening to him constantly. but i've always enjoyed his music.
it does actualy get better,, if u look around, not only focus on what the musicindustri tells u to like, then u will find loots of greate guitarplayes,, look on youtube or alike and u find heaven :cheers2:
