Ten billion or so flat-out stolen. Another ten billion or so missing. And more than a hundred billion dollars more that might be missing, but no one knows because it can't even be audited at all.

A gang in LA kills someone and steals 20 bucks, and everyone in the conspiracy gets life in prison with no chance of parole, at best.

The Republican Party murders 4000+ American soldiers and steals literally billions, and not one of them has been tried and executed yet. Not one.

We need to fix that.

I don't see Bush or Cheney being held accountable for anything.They should have been at minimum impeached a long time ago,but Americans have become far to weak,lazy and downright stupid.They are caught in this left/right,republican/democrat nonsense.It would be a great statement if that whole administration were held accountable,but I just don't see it happening. Bush is gonna wind up having an airport named after him,his own library,when the only thing that should be named after him is a prison,where he could spend the rest of his life.

And please don’t go on about ‘restoring the constitution’ it means nothing when it seems your constitution can be interpreted as anyone what’s (and established wealth and influence usually dictate how it is viewed) and anyway it often seems to me to be the route cause of some of the US’s problems especially the political system you follow.

The idea that once Bush is gone things will be better (or get better rapidly) seem over optimistic, in fact many commentators over here are warning people not to expect great change.

 

You're right about the last bit. None of the candidates except maybe Paul and Kucinich would have relinquished any of the extra powers of office that Bush and Cheney have grabbed since 09/11, during their administration.

As to the constitution being the root cause of our problems, that's like blaming the Magna Carta for Britain's problems. The root cause of our problems is the fact that no one stood and upheld it. Not the excutive, legislative, or judicial branches of government, it appears everyone has a price and can be bought including the voters and citizens of this country who sold out for the supposed price of promised security and continuing prosperity.

 

What you are not realizing is that a gang member or a couple gang members easily stand out to people with authority to apprehend a criminal like that.....To actually apprehend and entire party of government is in fact impossible and the government knows this...As the saying goes "Rules are meant to be broken" well exactly....The United States government is so badly fucked up it has been corrupt for the last 3 decades dating back probably to the beginning of all this (The Huston Plan) during the Nixon administration....While everyone today looks at Pres Bush as the guy destroying the US, he is actually the puppet of the leaders of congress and powerful CEO's of large corporations (*cough cough* OPEC, EXXON, EVERY OIL COMPANY) that fund most of there bullshit (come on hasn't anyone heard "The Guy From Boston") who are actually calling the shots...Come on now hasn't anyone actually listened to Bush, he can't talk straight, let alone knowing his head from is ass, his wallet does all the talking for him.

Anyways the world's population is heading for some serious trouble; housing, food, health care, water, I could go on and on.....Our governments know this and have colluded with each other to set up massive control plan....Come on now we don't have terrorist enemies, they are all apart of the big plan - to distract the American public of what the government is really doing, and put the fear of god into everyone so we are subjected to do exactly what they want (like the whole privacy act for national security)...If you have gotten this far you probably have an interest in this all the facts are below...read away.....Look if a terrorist wanted to bomb the US or whatever there are so many ways to do it that we would not be able to stop them.....its all a way of controlling mass population....

There over 600 prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but they are all empty. These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the United States.

ROME - President Bush on Thursday strongly disagreed with a Supreme Court ruling that clears foreign terrorism suspects at Guantanamo Bay to challenge their detention in U.S. civilian courts. Bush suggested new legislation may now be needed to keep the American people safe.

"We'll abide by the court's decision," Bush said during a news conference in Rome. "That doesn't mean I have to agree with it." The court's decision was sure to be popular in Europe, where many leaders have called for the closing of Guantanamo.

In its third rebuke of the Bush administration's treatment of prisoners, the court ruled 5-4 that the government is violating the rights of prisoners being held indefinitely and without charges at the U.S. naval base in Cuba. The court's liberal justices were in the majority.
