That is just so cool. Do you guys live in there now? Are you considering this seriously? Because I think it is a GREAT idea! Or market it as a "fitness retreat" aka fat camp and bring in even more .
This is a great home you have built, very impressive and the pics really show the hard work that goes into building. thanks for sharing your building experience and your home looks very solid.
we lived up there for a year and a half. we moved back down to the shack at the beginning of last winter. it is just to much effort keeping both places heated with wood and as this is where the computers and running water is it took priority. we still use it as a retreat(even if it is only 50 yards out the back door) as well as a guest house. glad you enjoyed it sandshoe..
heres some wonderful late spring photos of the cabin we just took today. this is the outdoor kitchen i built for the cabin last year, i still have a little work i want to do to it when i have time. and the new outhouse for the cabin.its a two seater.i have the windows, thats about all thats left on it besides figuring out some kinda earthy siding for it.
oh and we cant forget the hammock out back of the cabin for chilaxin in the shade.. thanks for lookin all.. have a great day!
we filled the holes between the logs with expandable foam (i do insulation for a living so it was free)then covered that with standard mortar mix..
