But he is launching his campaign for liberty.
I just recieved this. I suppose we all knew in the back of our minds this was going to happen but now it's reality. But this is not the end. This is just the beginning of the revolution. Here is a link to his new site.

We invite you to watch the live video broadcast of Dr. Paul's rally tonight, June 12th, @ 9PM CDT in Houston, TX. Dr. Paul will be making a major announcement, and we would like you to be a part of it.

    To view:

In the past we have had technical troubles with our live video broadcasts, but we will do everything we can to make sure you have the opportunity to view it live. The rally will also be professionally recorded and uploaded to the Internet for all to see in the next day or two.

Thank you for your continued support.

    For liberty,
    The Ron Paul 2008 Team

I am glad I never bought into the whole Ron Paul thing like some people. I saw a lot of the same groupthink mentality coming from Paul's supporters that I do the people they chastise for being the same way (and rightfully so).

People donated large sums of money to Paul's campaign, truly believing he could win. I said all along that he couldn't win because the people in this country have absolutely no say in the electoral process, nor have they ever. This country is run by the banks and corporations (and the people who run those), and they're the ones who have the ultimate say.

As I have stated too many times to count, the concept of voting serves only for the people to believe they have a say when they don't. You have a say, but only in the choices that they give you. The Obamas and the Hillarys and the McCains are torn from the same cloth, and it's they who have been hand-picked by the establishment for the roles they serve.

and like I have said for some time, as sincere as Paul may be, he is an unwilling/unknowing dupe.

Only in America would that "lone cowboy" image work.

Campaign for liberty? Smacks of the same stink as War on Terrorisim and Homeland Security. Isn't there someone out there honest enough and committed that they don't need to hire the same marketing firms as the competition. I wouldn't even wear a t shirt with these mottos printed on them, let alone support the causes.

    OK,

    1) I never donated to his campaign

    2) I never bought any Ron Paul bumper stickers or yard signs

    3) I never attended Ron Paul rallies

    4) I didn't vote for Ron Paul in the primaries

These are the people I am referring to. If you're too stupid to understand what I said, then even trying to explain this to you is a waste of my time.

I might have made positive comments about him in the past, but that does not equate to me being a hardcore supporter like some people. As I have said in the past, I don't vote.

Later on my feelings about Ron Paul changed and I realized his whole campaign for presidency was a farce which attracted some very naive and overly idealistic people, who really have no clue as to how the system works. They might realize something is very wrong with the system and want to change it, but you can't expect one person to bring about a miracle. People need to start leading themselves instead of looking for people to follow.

People's feelings and opinions change with time. If yours don't then there is something wrong with you.

Yes, as I said before, Ron Paul's key demographic is people like Pressed Rat, who - rather than campaigning to support him - actively campaign for people to do nothing and be passive. The political equivalent of playing dead.

And then they claim that the fact that Ron Paul lost proves the system is a conspiracy.

as much as i like the things ron paul has said. it was prety obvious they weren't going to give him a fair chance. his ideas go against the grain of the current political climate in america. i'm not sure how much good it would do to have him in office anyways, because he'd still have to answer to the same people that everyone else has to answer to. until you can sucessfully remove big money out of politics, nothing will ever change. atleast not for the better.

I never had any strong opinions on Ron Paul, really. I assumed that he was probably better than the other candidates, but never stood a chance of winning. I mean, I could run for office and never come close to winning because I have no power or connections to people with power. These Ron Paul people, while they are probably more informed than the rest of the voting population, are really clingling to false hope if they think one man is going to save them. Again, people need to start leading themselves as individuals.

Matt, you did have strong opinions of Ron Paul. Really.

And you did support and believe that he was a popular candidate, capable of crushing any Democrat that got the nomination.

Here, let me rub it in a little more for you:

You know, in a way, you were being duped into arguing in his favour as being the better candidate.

Did you not possess a small sense of false hope by arguing that he was the better candidate?

Wow. I guess you don't have any first hand experience with Ron Paul supporters. "Do nothing and be passive" seemed to be the motto of every democratic/liberal group or movement I've belonged to.

Who's clinging to the false hope of one man saving them? The movement isn't about one man. It's about educating ourselves and waking people up and infiltrating the system at all levels. I am not going to take on this mind set like alot of people have that our fate is our fate and there is nothing we can do about it. No fucken way. It will take time but we can do it.....or die trying.
