Since when has poker become a sport? I turned on ESPN to watch sports and what did I see, but poker. I don't think poker is a sport. What athletic ability does it take to play poker?

Since when does does turning a ford pinto into an ice cream machine constitute educational programming on the discovery channel(see monster garage)? It's all about ratings.

The gambling industry made an agreement with ESPN. It's big money.

Hey, if they can show spelling bees on ESPN, poker is definitely fair game.

I've seen them do cheerleading on ESPN. That involves some athletics. But poker and spelling beas (bees?) seems unusual.

Maybe we can have the next presidential 'debate' on ESPN and make it a spelling bee contest between Bush and Kerry. :)

the answer is simple... don't watch... just like anything else you don't like or approve of on television.
